Hired them for a backyard wedding. They demanded that my credit card be on file to secure the booking but assured me, on numerous occasions, that my card was never going to be charged; as someone else was handling payment. Bartender arrived late to the wedding and the chef for the grill never arrived. One of the waitstaff had to go do the grilling of the food, leaving the other one waitstaff to transport food/clear the area/prep food. They then charged the credit card they assured would not be charged and then refused to give me my money back. They stated they need to collect payment; however, they had the correct card on file the entire time to charge. When I explained to them they had no authority to charge my card and charged the wrong card, they REFUSED to refund me. The owner, Stephanie, was nothing but rude and condescending in her emails and NO ONE would call back. They are IMPOSSIBLE to get in touch with. Do not use this company unless you want to fight fraudulent charges and have lack of staff for your party.

We hired Hostess with the Mostess for my friend’s daughter’s 1st birthday party. We were initially very excited and optimistic, but that unfortunately did not last long. The woman that came to grille was clearly not experienced at all. She did not know how to properly set up the grille and required assistance from our guests multiple times to readjust the grille while it was hot. She was visibly high and drinking our beers throughout the night and took over 3 hours to grille the food. At one point, she poured lighter fluid on the grille while the food was on it…. my friend’s husband had to assist her with the grilling because she was so distracted and took so long. All of our food was overcooked, some inedible because of the fluid. Overall, out experience with this company was incredibly disappointing and unprofessional. We reached out the the owners multiple times and have been ignored. We will not be using them in the future.

My food started to get a nicotine addiction from all the second hand smoke the grill cook was blowing on it.

Recently experienced unbelievably unprofessional service with this company. A grill cook presented late to my nieces party and started even later grilling the food. Once the meat was finally done it was burnt, dry and tasted like lighter fluid. Extremely wasteful. I will never use this company or recommend them as they refused to provide a refund or acknowledge my family’s video evidence of the horrible service. Save yourself the headache and food waste and find another company that has integrity.

I have used a griller from hostess with the mostess for a couple years now. I have never had a problem until this year. The griller shows up late, forgets the lighter fluid and leaves to go retrieve it. She comes back and the grill isn’t fired up until an hour and a half after she was suppose to be cooking. She couldn’t keep the fire going so she thought it was a great idea to spray lighter fluid on the grill that our food is sitting on. Yes I have multiple videos that I have sent the company. In a matter of two hours cooking, all we have is maybe 30 hamburgers for 70 people. My husband had to step in and help at some point. She then puts on corn and hotdogs and burns all the food. It wasn’t even edible and we had to throw all of it away. She then packs it up and leaves. Doesn’t cook the remaining food because apparently it was too much work for her. It was such an embarrassment having this lady grill for my daughter’s first birthday. I will not be having them back because I expressed the issue with the OWNER who sent me a long email of excuses as to why she couldn’t complete a job AND excuses as to why she was smoking on the job. I sent a bunch of footage to back my claims and they don’t care as long as they were paid. Thank you Stephanie for running such a disgraceful business and ruining peoples parties.

One year ago the Ward Melville HS Class of 1973 celebrated a 50th reunion for 100 classmates. We contracted with HWTM to provide two servers , two bartenders and various equipment. The staff was well mannered, professional and top notch. The equipment was delivered in a timely manner. We ran into one snafu with the venue we used regarding insurance for the bartenders. Stephanie, owner of HWTM, helped us expedite & resolve the issue in less than 24 hours. I highly recommend HWTM!!

We had a lovely experience with Hostess with the Mostess. They made it super easy to plan a back yard bbq for our family. We did not have to worry about a single detail. They were very accomodating and willing to work with our needs! The food was deliscious, staff was super attentive, and everyone had a great experience!

While I did not get to use this company due to the services being gifted to me by a family member for my event. I wanted to comment and say how nice and communicative they were. If I ever am in need of these services, I will be sure to call and recommend Hostess With the Mostess.

I hired hostess with the mostess for my backyard wedding (100 guests) last weekend. They provided me with waitresses, bartenders and provided food for cocktail hour. What an unbelievable group of people - I highly recommend hiring them for your catering needs.

The staff were truly professional, extremely friendly and were able to go with the flow of the unpredicted chaos that comes with a wedding. Our house was partially under renovation - no bother for the staff. We realized in the middle of the reception we forgot firewood for the fire pit - the staff drove out in the middle of the party and bought us firewood. We had no idea how to get my bustle back on before the ceremony and they even helped save the day with that!

My guests have been raving that this was the most amazing food they’ve ever had at a wedding and I completely agree. Hostess with the mostess truly made my wedding amazing and I will definitely be using them again in the future for any catering needs.

I had a party with 50+ people and thanks to the efforts of my Hostess with the Mostess crew, it went off flawlessly! I was provided 2 servers and a bartender and they began working immediately upon arrival. They were all professional, courteous and extremely pro-active! I didn’t have to ask them to do anything-they simply took the initiative themselves! I highly recommend this company as this was not the first time I used them and have always been happy the day after!!

Awesome service. Used them for a griller at a bbq I had. AJ was awesome. Would definitely use their service again.

Susan and Anthony (our servers) were absolutely fantastic. I was impressed from the minute they arrived and they instantly made me relaxed knowing everything was covered. Really the best experience I’ve had!We will be Hostess with the Mostess for any and all catering needs we have in the future!!
