Delicious lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Ice coffee was wonderful too.
I don't know what I did before Night Work opened in Ballston Spa. I'm addicted to their fresh-baked focaccia, and always have to have a loaf of their sourdough at home. I also really appreciate that they have vegan options—especially vegan cream cheese for bagels!

Wanted to try a new place we heard about. Unfortunately the lady working the counter was abraisive and I don't think I'm alone in that assessment based on observations in line. Sourdough bread was excellent. The everything bagel was just okay, not crispy enough on the outside and too chewy. The toppings were a little overcooked for my taste. Customers service goes a long way.

Not so much a "sweets" bakery as a "savory" bakery.
I tend to seek out sweet pastries, cookies, and other baked goods on Fridays to celebrate making it another week. But sourdough has never been a type of bread that inspired sweet things to come to mind, far more mild, which is good for some but not what I really want.
However I like to give every bakery that opens a chance, so here we are.
First off, this is not an inexpensive bakery. For the four items I got I ended up spending over $30, when I could get a full box of goodies from a couple Italian bakeries in Clifton Park for as little as $18. So do not expect to walk away from here without opening the wallet a little wider than usual. I'm not sure if this is because of the niche process of baking only sourdough treats, or how much smaller scale it is compared to some larger scale operations. Whatever the case may be, it's pricy.
Secondly, as mentioned, these are very mild in terms of their sweetness. No frosting, no glazes, and even the ones with a sugar crystal topping are spiced out of their mind. The others relied upon fruits and more natural sugars to make them sweet, the sweetest of them being the babka, but even then it was still a very light sweetness. The chai spice snickerdoodle was so spicy, the apple oatmeal cookie was soft but kind of light on the apple side, and the cranberry-apricot scone was very dry and only had a single apricot on top of it. Overall, I was left unimpressed.
I do consider it an accomplishment to have finally been here, since they changed their hours, it has been much more difficult to get a chance to visit after work. But Fridays are still till 5PM.

Expensive. I am a foodie and appreciate quality, however, $5 or more for any goodie is high especially considering they are made from part of the sour dough element. I found staff so-so. Bread is good but if you’re not there by noon…gone. I’ve purchased bread 3 times in 6 weeks and each time I was charged differently. Weird.

Tiny sourdough bakery with incredible offerings from loaves to cookies, focaccia to babka and cinnamon rolls. They serve lunch at their 4 small tables, but outdoor seats are available as well. Expect to wait in line at lunch....the array of choices can make ordering difficult for some. Many vegan options are available but keto and low carbers watch out!

Expensive. The baked goods start at $5. The scone was really good. Focaccia was okay. Toast with jam was weird, didn’t know what flavor the jam was. Bread was pretty good though. The lady at the register wasn’t very friendly and kept talking to the other people in the middle of taking our order. We have never been and they didn’t really make a friendly first impression.
