Lovely atmosphere with beautiful view of the bay and the boats. Delicious food and attentive, efficient service.
Food was very good, especially the oysters! Decor outdated and could definitely use a refresh. Service was very good.
It was Good Friday, and my husband was in the mood for lobster. His meal was fine, no complaints. . My dinner consisted of oysters Rockefeller, which honestly had no taste and my stuffed shrimp, they tasted OK, but it came out sort of cold. Your potato and string bean zucchini dish that came with it was bland And no taste. The waitress was ok, by the time she got back to us wasn't going to complain about cold food. Espresso martini was probably the highlight of my meal. Not rushing back.
Great menu with lots of items to choose from. Great service. On the waterfront. Certainly one of the best seafood places on Long Island.
We have gone every year since we got married there 12 years ago ( except Covid 2020) we are never disappointed
Had lunch based a a friends recomendation and Open Table reviews. What a lovely meal with my wife. Restaurantt was bright and clean and we scored a table looking out onto marina. The $24.95 lunch prix fix menu had various choices. included app and entree. service was excellent by competent staff. Will return for dinner expecting same level of service
Service was not good. Server didn't come back to get drinks until the end of the meal. Food was average and husbands fish was a very small portion.
My Wife's crabcakes were very good. My oysters were very good. My Old Fashioned was very good. I had the linguine w/ lobster & shrimp. The linguine was borderline cooked enough and the lobster & shrimp were very chewy and little original flavor. Although, I expect the fish and meats are a better choice. Capt. Bill's is always a good choice for a pleasant dinner.
I was a little disappointed this time honestly. It's usually very good. My shrimp cocktail came with sauce that didn't taste like cocktail sauce. I asked for a side of ketchup and horse radish and made it myself. The lobster was OK. I definitely have had better. I wanted a steamed lobster. I expected it to be red and it appeared burnt. It was a little tough
I have to say we have been here 2x in the last 3 weeks. Yesterday we had 5:00 reservations. Same waiter as last, not sure if they are running a short staff but the timely service was poor both times . Every thing took forever. we were never asked if we wanted more drinks, my wife ordered wine and never got it. The female maitre'd only seemed to be concerned about one very wealthy table and passed on almost every other table to check in with guests on how their experience was going. The special crusted salmon noodles were so salty my wife couldn't eat it, yet no one noticed. We are constantly dining out and never expected such unprofessional poor service. Last, the drinks were good and my chicken meal was very good. so not all bad. improvement needed.

Food as excellent. We were four in our group. I ordered the braised short rib sandwich on ciabatta bread - it was delicious. My wife had the blackened Mahi-Mahi which was also very good. But we had to wait 30 - 40 minutes after we were finished eating before our table was cleared and the waiter brought us the dessert menu. Great food. The service could have been better.
Beautiful place for lunch.
Great view.

We've been going to Captain Bill's for years - always recommend! What really made our dinner was showing up and them bringing champagne to our table for our first wedding anniversary. It was really nice to know that they paid attention to the note I left in my open table reservation because I feel like a lot of restaurants don't look at that!
Captain Bill's is always one of my favorites. The food is excellent with a variety of options. We sat outdoors on a beautiful September evening, watching the boats dock a looking at the blue skies while dining.
Our dinner started with a drink at the bar for happy hour. Glass of wine was $5 and a nice pour We then bought another drink to take with us to the table at that price. The waitress was great and the seating was super by window overlooking the water Dinners were relatively priced. Good specials I had French onion soup was great!!!! and the prime rib generous piece for $50 The men had the same and the women had seafood platter. All and all the food , the pricing and service at bar and inside were fantastic. I highly recommend!!!
