I stopped in for a couple of Guinnesses and something to eat. Decided on the Irish Grilled Cheese and waffle fries. The grilled cheese was good. Not great. The fries were great. The Guinness was good and the service attentive.

After a tough day, I walked into The Penny Pub in Bay Shore just looking for a place to decompress. What I found was more than just a great local spot—it was a reminder that good people make all the difference.
Sean, the bartender, immediately picked up on the fact that I wasn’t having the best day. Without being overbearing, he made me feel welcome, comfortable, and at ease. He struck that perfect balance of conversation and space, and it genuinely helped lift my mood. You can tell he truly cares about the people who walk through the door.
Not only is Sean an excellent bartender—he's absolutely manager material. The way he runs the bar, keeps everything moving smoothly, and treats everyone with respect and kindness shows real leadership.
It’s rare to walk into a bar and feel better when you leave, not just because of the drinks, but because someone actually made the effort to connect. That someone was Sean.
I’ll definitely be back—and I hope the folks at Penny Pub know just how lucky they are to have him.

Good atmosphere but in 1/30 around 11pm I went to this bar with a group , that lady at the bar with glasses was very rude and unprofessional we order a round of drinks and 2nd round we told her there is some ppl left so u need to take off they drinks on this 2nd round , she still charged us with extra drinks and when I spoke to her to explain she was aggressive and she assist to pay and it was my fault , but I didn’t pay the extra and I left , worst experience ever and I own 2 restaurants, an employee like that need to get terminated she is a bad vibe to the place

I had the most horrifying experience at Penny Pub, and I will NEVER go back. The manager, Mike, walked into the women’s bathroom, of all places, and screamed at us to leave the bar because of a drink that was sitting on the counter—which wasn’t even ours! His tone was incredibly disrespectful, startling, and downright threatening.
As if that wasn’t enough, he followed us out of the bar, slandering our names and being unbelievably mean. I was so shaken by the whole ordeal that I couldn’t stop crying. It was truly horrifying to be treated like that, especially by someone who is supposed to be in charge.
This place has absolutely no class, and the staff is beyond unprofessional. I wouldn’t recommend Penny Pub to my worst enemy. Save yourself the trauma and avoid this place at all costs.
