My first time to Fire Island, trusting the map... Please post accurate hours! I would probably give this place one star, but it looks like they at least have kept the grounds clean?

Heaven on earth. Live music, fast food that tastes home cooked. Beer & cocktails. Friendly happy people. The beautiful sun & surf. No automobiles or trucks or buses. Only fresh clean air & good times.
Cannot imagine rating The Shack poorly. Where do you think you are, the Waldorf?? Skilled bartenders pouring great drinks (rocket fuels with the actual correct ingredients, unlike other establishments on the island!) Fun environment with live music on the weekend. Just steps from the beach too! Nothing better on a hot beach day!

Alllll the boys n girls are going to the shack! Guzzling rocket fuels, leaving worries out back.Seriously - this is the best watering hole on this side of the Great South Bay. I wish they offered their dinner menu on weekends because the shrimp taco and chips are surprisingly good. Prices are reasonable for the island as well. There was live music almost every time we stopped by - and every act sounded spot on. Fun in the sun for everyone.

Fun chill spot in Atlantique serving up ice cream, alcoholic drinks, bar food, and good vibes.The ice cream was $3.25 per scoop, no cone, just cups, and had some fun flavors including birthday cake, chocolate moose tracks, and cappuccino chunk. Very well flavored.The chicken tenders were $8.50 and fresh out of the fryer.For being the only restaurant in the area, their prices are quite reasonable!

Only stopped for 2 adult drinks which were good. BUT WAY Overpriced at $23 for a Zippy and Montauk summer ale. However it's fire island and we are on vacation. So it's was fun to find this lonely shack to stop at. Very very beachy and exactly what you want on Fire Island!!

The Shack is located on Atlantique Fire Island , you can get there by taking the ferry or dock your own boat . This was my first time here and I really loved it ! It is very low key and not crazy like Ocean Beach . There are no shops here , there's just one place to grab a bite and a small bar to get a delicious drink! There are a-lot of boats docked as you can stay overnight if you want to for for a fee. They have picnic tables , a playground and bathrooms ( theses are in dire need of upkeep ) when you arrive it is a very short walk to the beach . You will pass the The Shack on your way and that's exactly what it is. , a shack !The menu is posted , they offer items like fish sandwiches, chicken wrap , chicken fingers , fries , ice cream , drinks and more ... you just order through a window and pick it up when they call your name . Everyone is pleasant and polite ! They have a bar area inside and some outdoor seating with picnic tables . I ordered the fish sandwich , my husband had the chicken wrap . Both were fresh and delicious! We also had the onion rings which were perfectly crisp and yummy ! At the bar we ordered Rocket Fuels ! Outstanding ! They even had live music . We enjoyed our drinks and listened to the the band Soul Purpose They were fantastic! We totally enjoyed our day ! I ordered the fish sandwich
