Whalers is one of our favorite restaurants for good reason. Our server was cordial and knowledgeable, the staff was attentive and polite and the food was delicious.
Spent the afternoon with family. Servers were amazing, Michael was kind and patient. The little neck clams on the half shell were so fresh! Delicious!!! Every one was happy with their meals. The dessert apple pie wantons are memorable!!
10/10 experience. It was very busy but the service was excellent. Felt bad I had to keep asking our server to repeat himself because it was so loud in there! But I will absolutely be back!
Management seemed more interested in rearranging the tables while drinks sat at the bar. Received food before drinks. Fra Diavlo was a bad marinara sauce with no spice. Terrible service. Tacky Christmas lights all over.
Attended for a bridal shower. Beautiful view of Marina and ocean. Food was buffet brunch, good.
Bar downstairs looked fun and beachy.

My husband and I just hosted a very successful 40th Birthday Celebration at Whaler's in Bay Shore. Catering Manager, Kelly, was an absolute joy... very helpful in the planning process, offering great suggestions. After our first meeting with Kelly, my husband and I knew that we were in good hands. Whaler's party room is beautiful, the food was delicious and the entire staff were very kind and friendly. It was a terrific experience. I would not hesitate to host another event at Whaler's.

The atmosphere was clean and inviting. The service was excellent! Our appetizer was the whipped feta served with grilled naan. It was very delicious, but I believe red pepper flakes were sprinkled on it, which made it a little too spicy. It's not listed in the description, so if you don't want spicy/hot, I would request it not be added. We had the lobster roll and the shrimp pappardelle!! Both were excellent! The pappardelle was thin and cooked perfectly. We definitely would return!

We made reservations for Valentine's Day for 5:15, as we were going to a concert later that day. The restaurant was quiet, and we were directed to the upstairs dining area, which overlooks the Bay Shore marina. We were taken to a table in a corner without a window, when there was an open table with a view available, so I asked for us to be seated at the window table. The restaurant is noted for its seafood menu, typical as it is located on the South Shore of Long Island. I ordered the steamed mussels as an appetizer, and the Seafood Risotto as my entree. My companion ordered the Baked Clams and the Cold Lobster Roll. My mussels were warm, not hot, and overly salty. The menu stated they were to be accompanied with garlic toast but the toast was plain. My companion said the baked clams were good. The seafood risotto was a strange dish, where whole clams, mussels and shrimp were cooked in the risotto, leaving you to dig rice out of the shells. The dish was hot. The lobster roll had good pieces of lobster, but not very much dressing, with little mayo, making for a dry sandwich. For dessert I had the Panna Cotta with fruit, which had a little more gelatine than I think was required, putting it more on the Jello side of the dish. Service was medium, having to remind our server of a coffee order, then bringing coffee which obviously had been sitting in a pot for some time, having long lost its' freshness. Maybe the restaurant works better in the summer season, as it has great views of the marina and the bay. Note* the restaurant does not serve Miller Lite beer.

Great Fresh Seafood and Regular Food options. Friendly Staff, nice bar, t.v.'s for sports. The food and drinks are delicious. The staff is awesome. The bartender was nice. Great place for breakfast, brunch, lunch, or dinner. Mimosa's and Bloody Marys are great. Good place for regular visits or for a private party. Indoor and outdoor right on the water. Come by car or boat. Plenty of parking.
