Have been dining there for years. Friendly. Food are good in general. I am a meat lover, but I actually like their veggie dishes there more. Breakfast menu during Sat, Sun are my favorites. Taste has been changed over the year, but still within expectation. Best for family and married couples. Not for fine dining experience for dating.

🍜 Review: Nan Bei Ho – Bayside, NY
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Bayside is packed with great food spots, and Nan Bei Ho easily earns its place on that list. We ordered the family dinner plus one appetizer, and the value was unbelievable—only $70 for a full spread that tasted like comfort, tradition, and skill all rolled into one.
The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the kind of place where families gather, conversations flow, and the food does all the talking. The staff were kind, attentive, and fast—our dishes came out in under 15 minutes. We barely had time to sip our tea before the table filled up.
Here’s what we ordered:
- Egg dish – soft, savory, and perfectly seasoned.
- Pan‑fried noodles – crispy edges, tender center, and a sauce that ties everything together beautifully.
- Salt & pepper fried fish – crispy, fragrant, and absolutely addictive.
- Tofu dish – silky, flavorful, and a standout even for non‑tofu lovers.
Every dish tasted fresh, balanced, and made with care. It’s the kind of meal that makes you want to come back and try the entire menu.
Parking can be tough in Bayside, but if you’re willing to walk a block or two, it’s absolutely worth it.
I love this place, the food, the service, and the vibe. Nan Bei Ho is officially on my repeat‑visit list.

This is one of my favorite go to breakfast places.
You cannot beat the prices for authentic Taiwanese style breakfast.
When we come as a family, we always get the soy milk, salted tofu (personal favorite), pan fried dumplings, steamed veggie dumplings, scallion, pancake with beef, you tiao and stinky tofu.
The stinky tofu isn't that pungent, but the accompanying pickle vege is just perfect and the fry tofu is suitable for the entire family to enjoy.

Food was not as good as I expected. I got the General Tso's chicken and the sauce was a little funky and the chicken was not crispy. Also got the scallion pancakes with beef and the scallion pancakes looked poorly reheated and wasn't anything amazing. Probably wouldn't come back.

Extremely bad bad service. Almost barbaric. I expected reasonably freshly cooked food but instead I got some microwave food. I reflected the situation and the restaurant yelled back and said my expectations were unreasonable. The insult was public and lasted 5 minutes!!! They will forever lost this one customer!!!

Delicious
Their meals were superb from finger-licking broth and meat to a wide array of vegan diet. On top of that their prices are very fair.

I have to give 5 since they brought back my hometown memories..
💛✨🧡flatbread燒餅 was something hard to find here.. it was ok but a great option with salty soybean milk鹹豆漿.
❣️❣️Stinky tofu was outstanding though! Highly recommend if you want to challenge! This is a good one.
🍳✨scrambled egg mixing dried radish菜圃蛋 was an unique dish in Taiwan as well. Definitely a dish for special taste.
