Finally got around to trying Taverna Kyclades, and wasn't disappointed! Came late on a Friday night so we were able to be immediately seated. Ambiance is cozy, service was attentive and helpful with the menu breakdown. We ordered the grilled calamari (a must have, so tender and not at all salty ot heavy), the scallops (wonderful), and the rib eye (good but nothing spectacular), with sides of lemon potatoes and Swiss chard. Definitely a great authentic local Greek spot, and...
All I can say is WOW. The Mister and I were speechless. We had the Grilled Octopus, Grilled Calamari, Raw Oysters, and shared Lamb Chops with Lemon Potatoes. EVERYTHING was perfectly seasoned, cooked and fresh. Service was amazing and we’re definitely going back. I’m a chef with a pretty judgy palate and was thoroughly impressed. Highly recommend!
The food here is excellent, just like the one in Bayside. I had to limit my visits to the fall and winter though because in the summer every time I stop by all the doors are open and it feels like there is no AC on… bummer.
I always end up going to Maria’s down the street instead, which is equally good but has a really pleasant climate inside.
