I do not understand this place. 7pm on a Saturday night. Only 3 tables seated. Was told if we didn't have a reservation we could only sit at the bar. Literally the entire restaurant was empty. Makes 0

really bad service and business practices.. my friends pre-ordered a food package in addition to our bayville scream park packages. nowhere did it indicate anything about additional service charges. I ordered off of the ala carte menu. when I received my bill, they informed me that they added a $7.50 service charge for my friends pre-paid packages (how does that make any sense to add that to my bill?) and on top of that they automatically added 20% gratuity. for a single person check. i’m a server myself, and it is known that auto gratuity should only be added to large parties… it’s not even about the money as I always tip at least 20%, it’s just the principle. and i’m not one to leave bad reviews, but it just seems so grimey for them to charge me $7.50 apparently for my friends packages that they had already paid for, and then an additional $5 for auto gratuity, and we were only informed of this after receiving the bill.. also the food was mediocre at best. now I know why it was dead on a Saturday night. i’d recommend taking your business elsewhere

The Shipwreck should be renamed the "Trainwreck". We walked in at noon on a beautiful, sunny Saturday to watch some football and have lunch, and were informed that the kitchen didn't open until 12:15. I proceeded to order a Guiness draft, and was then informed by the bartender that they didn't have any draft beers... at all (odd). I asked if there was a problem with the draft system and the bartender said "no", they were just out of everything". So my wife and I opted for vodka & sodas instead. Had one round and then ordered a second, which came back as vodka and some other sweet soda, like Sprite or 7Up. When we told the bartender that they weren't correct, he mumbled something about the soda syrup lines being mislabled or something. Eventually he got them right and we ordered some food... chicken wings, fried clam strips and sliders. Food took 40 minutes to arrive. There were a group of 5-6 bikers and one other party, but that was it. Wings were soft and greasy, not crispy. Clam strips were definitely a frozen product (you'd think that on Long Island it would be a nice touch to use fresh product), and the 3 sliders were on stale buns. Total five drinks (4 vodkas -1 sangria) and food: $129.56 not including $25 tip. My guess is that this place is on the skids and not going to be around very long. Too bad, the interior looked nice and the tiki bar seemed like a cool place to hang.

Food is good 5/5?tbh expected worse ,spinach was way salty . Rip off for 20% tip included for 2 persons against the law I understand business in decline and struggling , management and servers gotta get paid somehow . So pls don't double tip dear patrons cuz check and the end I didn't receive back . They should update this right after seat the table . Ambiance is cool , server was nice and responsive 5/5 sorry didn't ask and never got the name . Didn't got a chance to drink . Cuz way back home 50 miles to Brooklyn ....

Ugh! The worst… when we first walked in there was no one in the restaurant 7pm on a Thursday night. The bartender told us to sit anywhere. Each table had a tacky sticky feel bc the varnish is wearing off (I have no idea but gross). Next the entire menu is fried food “restaurant depot” food. I ordered an unsweetened ice tea and a Bloody Mary the waiter brought me a sweetened ice tea bc they were out of unsweetened ice tea. Came back 10 minutes later bc they were out of Bloody Mary mix. My husband ordered New England clam chowder the waiter came back 10 minutes later and they were out of it. We walked out.

The food is overpriced imo, but the staff was very accommodating and friendly. The atmosphere was pleasant and the food is good. Not a big menu by any means. And limited drink menu as well.

It was a good choice! My wife really liked fish and chips: very little bread over fish, fish was fresh and just melting in your mouth. My burger was done exactly as I wanted! We were sitting on the outside patio next to the “shipwreck” that has a speaker playing music. It was our kind of music! Nice water views, great atmosphere, attentive staff and good food!❤️

I REALLY wanted to love this place. My family didn't want to go but I told them to keep an opened mind. I was hoping that Shipwreck will be our new go to in Bayville. We stood outside trying to figure out where the entrance was and just wandered around until we saw someone. The inside was empty so we figured it must be closed. We finally found a server walking around and I asked if the restaurant was open. We finally sat down but the table was filthy and sticky. The interior is beautiful so we were surprised to see the place empty. We ordered burgers and they were okay. They could definitely add a little more options for their burgers. We didn't get napkins and I had to walk around looking for utensils. What really upset us was when we received the check. They added and 20% gratuity to the total. I didn't even have a choice to give my own gratuity amount. 20% is a good tip for good service. The waitress was very nice but my table was dirty, I had to walk around looking for silverware and napkins. So $85 for two basic burgers, grilled cheese and 2 bottles beers. We pay less at a popular burger place. As we are sitting we saw a few families walking by and couldn't figure out if the restaurant was open so they just kept walking. That's lost business just because there isn't a clear entrance. So unfortunate. I hope they make some changes. I would love to see this place do well.

We were sitting in the bar, it was a weekday , so not a lot of people's ,not really hot outside. I like service, great food, and great drinks. Mussels was amazing , by the way. So I will definitely come back. It's just little bit pricey.

We went by for a quick lunch after paddle boarding nearby. It's a cute spot. I've been many times over years and seen changes. It's been a roller coaster ride but I'm happy to say our last visit was great. Miguel made great Pina Coladas on a hot day. We sat by fans. We ordered shrimp cocktail and chicken Caesar salad. Everything was fresh and delicious. Look forward to trying it again soon. Btw-Next door adventure park are getting strict with you wondering over.

Stay away! The place is dark, sticky and run down. The food is less then mediocre. Soggy instead of crispy, wilted instead of fresh and lacking taste. Not inexpensive and you are hit with a 20% service charge unless you are eating alone. How this place stays open is beyond me.

We waited an hour for the food and no servers asked us or helped us before we got the food. Also there's bones in the fish burger.
