Place was empty but the rolls were good. Crab Rangoon pastry was heaving and the center was like molten cream cheese; sweet chili sauce is a nicety.

Isamu provided a solid dinner meal that didn’t break the bank but also won’t be memorable. Their sushi is likely the best in Beacon but without much competition, that’s not as high praise as you’d think.
I also wasn’t a huge fan of the idea that some takeout combos are cheaper than their exact dine-in counterparts.

Our family has been coming to Isamu for over 10 years and it has always been a favorite. Both the food and service were always excellent. However our last two dinners there were just terrible.

The first time, on a Sunday evening, the service was so slow (despite not being very busy) that our food sat on the counter waiting to be served for so long that it was no longer hot by the time we received it. One of our guests entrees never came at all but they didn't want to have to potentially wait again as long as we had the first time.

The second time was a Monday night. We were one of only two tables seated for most of the meal and there were two servers, one for each table. The service was worse than ever. We ordered two soups, one entree, and a fried rice to share. Our soups took a long time to come out and weren't very hot when they did. Hot and sour soup was always my favorite here but this time it had hardly anything in it besides broth. Then we waited again for our entree and fried rice but only the entree came out. We tried to eat it slowly but our fried rice didn't come out until we had completely finished the entree. Our server, who was outside smoking when the fried rice finally appeared on the kitchen counter, brought it over and rather than apologize for the delay, told us that "The chef didn't want to make fried rice". Unfortunately the fried rice wasn't as good as usual either, it was mostly just plain rice.

Isamu was one of my favorite Beacon establishments but after our last two meals there, I don't think we will be returning unless something drastically changes for the better. Large part of the problem, especially tonight, seemed to be young unprofessional staff being left with no supervision.

I don't normally write reviews of any kind but I'll write one in the hope that the owners will see this and hopefully make things a bit better. Our first time was great. The sushi was fresh and our server was kind and attentive. The following 2 times we have had a sub par experience. Our server did not acknowledge us when we were sat and then when it was time to order she walked up to us, say hey guys (without looking up) and didn't ask what we'd like or if we were ready. A bit awkward! Both times our appetizers and soup have come out after our meals. Please fix this and get the timing right. Appetizers should not come out after the main meal unless we ask for it to be that way. The sushi was still fresh and tasty although the crunch part seems to have been left out eventhough I ordered it. If we decide to go back I hope these things get better.

Great local sushi place! We order in from here all the time and have never had the issues some of the lower reviews here complain about -- sushi is always fresh and speedy.

We were seated immediately. Our waitress was absolutely amazing. She was kind but funny. We laughed with her several times. She told us the deal for beers today. And the inside is beautiful. Also reasonably priced for sushi. Only downside was our appetizer came out after our entrees.

A very calming interior with attentive staff and delicious food for reasonable prices. I've been there once while visiting the area and my wife keeps talking about it, so I know she loves it too.

Had a nice filling dinner this evening, Sushi, specialty rolls, sesame chicken, vegetable fried rice. Everything was delicious. Service was fantastic. They were quite busy, the sushi chef gave us a complimentary little appetizer, it was so unexpected and nice!
