I cannot rate this restaurant as it was closed when we arrived. There was not a car in the lot,& we went to look inside, & it was completely dark. So bizarre considering that I confirmed the day before,& received no phon call or email to let me know they would be closed. It was very disappointing being that it was a birthday dinner!

The highlight of the evening was Shawn, the mixologist. He was attentive, engaging, and crafted cocktails to perfection. He is the main reason we would return. The food was certainly fresh. The brussel sprouts and reuben pasta dish were standouts, both having beautiful flavor. The edamame and veggie burger lacked seasoning. We did need to ask for our server a couple of times. However, he was lovely and professional. We look forward to trying other menu options soon.

Our reservation was originally for 4 downstairs on the main floor with fireplace, we later added 2 more to the reservation and it must have changed it to the loft. The loft was ok but not nearly the atmosphere as main floor with raw bar, fireplace ect.. It was a 55 minute drive doubtful we will return anytime soon but I would definitely recommend, very charming and excellent food

It was a memorable, cozy evening celebrating our son's birthday. We all enjoyed our drinks, appetizers and desserts. The service was excellent. Our group loved the pumpkin and cashew soup and octopus appetizers. Two of our guests had the scallops and really enjoyed them. The pumpkin cake was delicious for dessert. We will look forward to gathering again as a family at the Barn. Thanks again for a lovely evening!

Unfortunately an unpleasant experience and embarrassing. The Chef/Manager/Owner Roxanne Spruance has a huge attitude problem. She has not business beign in the hospitality industry if she treats her guest the way she does, disrespectful and disgusting behavior. We brought my in laws for the first time, to a birthday celebration, and what an embarrassing time this was. The minute we sat down she came onto us with the rudest attitude I have never seen in a restaurant. Was she drunk or else? Horrible woman, she needs to be removed ASAP! We politely asked the host to be moved to a similar table one row over and Roxanne came bursting and refused and even asked us to leave if we didn't wanted to seat at the assigned table, by the door. My elder were cold the entire time. There is not flexibility with her, nor organization, you can clear see the lack of commitment to quality. Accommodations is not a word she knows. Her rudeness and responses are a disgrace. It used to be a nice place until she took over! She missed culinary etiquette class out right. Ahe has not interest in providing class A hospitality. Her food was mediocre at best, lack of presentation, flavor and flare. Basically it mimics her personality. “The food is equally befuddling.” For the kill: “Nobody should pay this much money to be sad.” Spruce spent the entire night yelling the food orders to the kitchen from behind the bar, loud and bit crazy. It's was annoying. She is extremely rude and dismissive. She made us wait for 10min outside in the cold weather because they open doors at 5:pm. Beware! When you arrive you must scan a QR code to access the menu. With the poor internet you're lucky if you can view it on your phone. She refuses to hand out print menu, poor manners, and that she forces them upon every single guest. I wish my $600 birthday dinner was anywhere else.

While we enjoyed the food the one recurring theme was "No"! No substitutions, No to accommodating food allergies, no to the temperature of the meat, NO, NO, NO, NO!!! You will want to download the menu before you arrive as they do not provide actual menus. I had taken a snap shot of the menu and texted it to my family. When we tried to use the code provided the internet service was non-existent! After we had dessert we had requested coffee, well what we recieved was the bill instead. They made it very clear that our time was up and we were not going to get our coffee! In other words, don't let the door hit you on the way out! The service was pleasant, somewhat rehearsed, but nevertheless borderline amateurish, not what one would expect of a Relais and Chateaux. The restaurant is not handicap friendly, there was plenty of parking, but not one spot was allocated for the handicapped. The restaurant is not really wheelchair accessible, the rest rooms of which there are two was not handicapp friendly. The wine list was exceptional, the setting was lovely and the food was nicely presented and interesting, however the experience was just okay.

Excellent food and ambiance. Our server Kathryn was amazing. Someone from the kitchen came out to discuss a shellfish allergy someone in our party had and advised to avoid a dish that would have cross contamination. Their extra care ensured there was no allergic reactions later. We had the pumpkin cashew soup, chicory salad, blooming onion, steak frites and burgers with the apple pie ice cream sandwich for dessert. All was delicious.

At first I was concerned as they were out of several things we ordered. But it turned out ok, due to the fabulous server. They do not make substitutions so be aware. The breakfast did not come with any bread, extra charge for an English mission. But as stated, it was a good experience due to the great servers.

Sadly, I wanted to relive old memories of a once great restaurant at the inn (the formal dining area is no longer serving) and settled for the more casual fireplace barn. In a post Covid era where we now know the virus is an airborne disease not spread via menus, what restaurant offering fine dining mandates QR scanned menus? Its just lazy and bad management—I get it if you’re a roadhouse with $15 entrees but you cannot have it both ways. Oh yeah, the food is somewhere between lousy and mediocre—the hamachi appetizer was a joke…my wife’s cod was salvaged by mushroom compliment but otherwise I wish my $250 birthday dinner was anywhere else.Parking: Plenty of easy/accessible parking

I love this place but have two comments: 1) during covid, they went to a scannable menu and still use it. At other restaurants, if a patrons asks for a printed one, they have a few. Here, not only is there none printed but the WiFi is lousy. We continue to find this annoying. 2) when I asked to replace the cheddar on a salad with goat cheese, the waiter said they had none, but there was a goat cheeses salad on the menu...

Outstanding dinner of scallops wrapped in bacon. Wonderful cocktail list. Cozy rustic feeling dining room with large fireplace. The waiter was knowledgeable about all the items on the menu and was helpful without being overbearing.

Outstanding food and perfectly balanced plates every time- definitely a destination dining spot- just wish they'd open the upstairs as well so we could go more often and enjoy a larger space :)

We enjoyed a lovely Saturday Brunch at The Barn at The Bedford Post. The ambiance was warm and inviting. The decor outside the door and the fireplace was so beautiful. The female hostess greeted us and gave us seating right away. Our male server was very nice. I loved the pumpkin soup with toasted English muffin-it was so delicious! My son James loved the steak and eggs. Our friend Pratt enjoyed his wedge salad with grilled chicken. Fabulous Brunch experience. Highly recommend!
