Hamza & Madina Halal Food Bellmore

I want to share a serious issue I’ve experienced twice at the Bellmore location, and I’m disappointed that my direct complaint to the business went unanswered.

On two separate occasions — first in late July/early August and again in mid-October — the same employee made completely inappropriate assumptions about my ethnicity. During both visits, our entire interaction was in English: he greeted me in English, took my order in English, and handled the entire transaction normally. But right as I was leaving, he suddenly switched to speaking to me in Chinese and assumed my ethnicity out of nowhere.

After the first time, I corrected him politely and gave him the benefit of the doubt. For him to repeat this behavior months later is unacceptable and very clearly intentional. This is disrespectful, racially insensitive, and made me feel incredibly uncomfortable in front of other customers.

The rest of the staff have always been kind and professional, which makes this behavior stand out even more. But the fact that this happened twice, and that my formal complaint to the business was ignored, feels extremely disappointing.

Customers should be treated with respect, and having my ethnicity assumed — after correcting the employee the first time — is completely inappropriate. I hope management takes this seriously so no one else has to deal with the same experience.

I came here for the first time tonight and was blown away! The food is exceptional and tasty, and the fries are fresh and crispy. But the real reason I came here was to leave a raving review for Abdul! From the very moment I stepped in, he made me feel welcomed and cared for. He was attentive, friendly, laid-back, and even gave me suggestions for meat free meal options. I felt so invited! It's really hard to come across genuine people these days, especially in customer service. Thanks to Abdul, this place really stood out to me and I am so glad I stopped in. I will definitely be returning and telling all of my friends about this restaurant. This man deserves a raise!!!

Everything is always so fresh and clean. Today I bought rice chicken and lamb. Definitely 100% The Turkish gentleman is always here and is very attentive. I thought he was the owner, but he is a single worker and treats everyone like family. We will always come back!

What a find! We were at LI Trading Post and decided to try this place next door. The food was amazing, best falafels. The portions were big and the prices so reasonable. Sweet staff! Will definitely go back.

I love halal food, so I gotta be honest, this is now my favorite halal place. The falafel balls are crispy and fresh. Chicken over rice that I had tonight was extraordinary! My daughter asked why I shook my head and I said because the food is so good. The gentlemen who worked here are also very friendly and I like how they go out of their way to make my 5 year old feel welcome. Ill be back next Wednesday after swim class.

Didn’t know they’re now franchises which means owners don’t have to follow Hamza & Medina rules for ingredients composing each meal item - or do they? Thus, the cook or owner adds the totally WRONG ingredients- example, falafel Everywhere in the world I’ve had it gets TAHINI sauce over it. Not Here- white sauce is used instead UNAUTHENTICALLY altering the right traditional TASTE! Also, I was told Owner doesn’t use GARLIC in his white sauce which alters it entirely because GARLIC is the ESSENTIAL ingredient. Every grocery where you buy it even labels it’s containers “White Garlic” sauce - making Bellmore’s tasteless instead of enhancing the meal item. Also, instead of watching falafel balls or kofta being freshly made and fried, they must be frozen in advance because they’re hard, FLAT and not BALLS. Their chicken pieces were soft, but sorry to say Lamb was not and had no taste of lamb. How can they not make a TZADZIKI sauce that automatically goes with the lamb like peanut butter and jelly combination??? What were they using instead to save money in place of real lamb? You can’t fool people, certainly not food critics and chefs! Obviously, I won’t be returning to THIS location ever. The food truck in Hicksville was absolutely my FAVORITE authentic Middle Eastern menu with EVERY authentic and FLAVORFUL tasty bite plus friendly made to order service - line around the block til 2 am GREAT tells the truth.

I was going to their Hicksville location and was very happy to see they opened one even closer to me in Bellmore. I have been three or four times and had all different workers who were all friendly and the food was always the same so that makes me question some of the bad reviews a bit.
