This place is my preferable place. Of all restaurants I know I prefere it most. I never miss an opportunity to go to that place. when I I need a proper meal, this restaurant comes immediately to my head. very good and all kinds of food and a large list of dishes.great team, and great atmosphere. In addition to that, the charge is reasonable. I suggest this spot with pleasure.
Ordered a duck po boy, wings, and gumbo today for curbside pickup. Everything tasted excellent, and was prepared exactly in the time that they estimated. Will def order again!
Just ordered curbside for first time. New in town. Great food! I gotta say their mac and cheese is like crack!!! Delicious .... Thank you !
We did curbside tonight. The oysters were fresh. The crawfish Mac and cheese was delicious and the jambalaya was great!! I highly recommend this place. I can’t wait until we can go and have a sit down dinner.
Its just consistently good food with a casual-refinement which a lot of other places lack these days.
Great food and a beautiful restaurant. Definitely get the Voodoo wings, also the garlic parmesan charred oysters are amazing.
Read about Top Hat Oyster Bar in a Newsday (local Long Island paper) article featuring restaurants to consider that embrace Mardi Gras and serve Louisiana-style food. Wow, what a find! This unpretentious, yet lively spot, sported with Mardi Gras beads and themes, offers some incredible dishes at reasonable prices. Standouts include the trio of oysters, crawfish mac n' cheese, alligator sausage, and bread pudding with a bourbon sauce. As an aside, the bar scene was lively with what appeared to be Bellmore locals. We will be back!
Great food, atmosphere and service
We have eaten here three times and have decided never again. We really wanted to like this place. The atmosphere is good and the staff has always been wonderful. I will review specifically on my most recent experience. The food was just ok. The best part was probably the apps. So maybe if your just coming in for apps and drinks it’s fine. The meal was not good. Three of us ordered the boiled crawfish and it was overcooked. You could barely get it out of the shell without the meat falling apart. It was mushy. They did the right thing and took it back and removed the charge. Two of us ordered the gumbo which is off the app menu and one ordered an entree. The gumbo was basically the roux and rice. I had two pieces of meat in my bowl. For what our bill came out to be it was way overpriced for what we got. The food was just ok. Again I want to stress that the wait staff was amazing.
Get here early for Happy Hour as the bar is small. Great bar staff, super friendly. Very good drinks and Happy Hour priced food. The wings are a must!! Of course you must have the oysters too!

Great service. Super friendly staff. Oysters were top notch and most food was very good indeed. The catfish entree was a pass. Overall it's a cool spot.
A beautiful place.. A very friendly and personable bartender, not to mention all the staff was very friendly..
Has a unique menu and a nice happy hour, but bar a little small though. Lots of oyster options. Had a scotch egg ,must try.
