Great place, the food is amazing! You can sit at a table with tablecloths and dine inside. The menu offers so many things and if you don't see what you want, ask, it may be on the take out menu and still available! My favorite Chinese food on Long Island for over 40 years! Don't miss the shrimp egg food young!!

I have been ordering take out from this place for some time now. The food was always good. However over the weekend I had trouble with the app. I tried to place the order and it said “something went wrong” call a number. I looked at my email. No receipt , no confirmation, nothing. I did not call the number. So I tried again, same issue. Then I called and placed the order. I went to pick it up. The counter girls were very loud and yelling at me like I did something very wrong. There were 3 orders for me. They would not even listen to me. But kept yelling. I ended up taking the two orders home that I ordered from the app. I gave away one of the orders. Afterwords I thought if they saw similar orders coming from the app with the same number. And a third one from a phone in, Why wouldn’t they question it? I guess I should’ve called that number. But after the way I was treated at the counter, I will never subject myself to that kind of treatment again. Too bad, the food was good.

Absolutely fantastic. My family usually goes to their second location in Jericho, but we wanted to try the original. Food was delicious and we sat down right away.
Food was Ok. Service was not good at all. No smiles. Our party of 4 was totally ignored for about 20 minutes and it wasn't busy.. We will not go again.

The Orient Restaurant, located on Hicksville Road in Bethpage, NY 11714, is a Chinese restaurant that I will not order from again. I have been in the Hotel and Restaurant industry for over 40 years, from the service desk to an upper management position, and knows much about food and the hospitality business. I previously ordered from this restaurant a couple of weeks ago, for the first time, and the food was great: the shrimp fried rice was smoky and loose, the shrimp rolls were crispy, and the Szechuan chicken was more of a mild fusion dish, not spicy as indicated on the printed menu. This is a pricey restaurant, and one expects the food to be above the level in taste and well-cooked when compared to the less pricey Chinese restaurant around the block. This was not my experience today, 08/20/2025, a total disappointment when I placed an order for a shrimp fried rice, shrimp rolls, and half of a crispy fried chicken. The fried rice was soggy, a clump of over-boiled rice with overcooked shrimps; the fried chicken was not crispy but sliced, and the shrimp rolls were underdone and soggy with oil. I phoned the restaurant and asked to speak with a manager, and I was promptly disconnected. On my second try, calling, I was rudely told that there was no manager and should try calling tomorrow, and she (the person who answered my call) does not have the time to hear my complaint because they are very busy. Wow, what incompetent service and a don’t-care attitude for a customer. If you like your dishes over-priced, and tasty one time, tasteless and underdone on your next order, and don’t care to complain, then this place is for you. I am not recommending this restaurant to anyone who cares about quality food and good customer service.
