This place is my favorite! Ralph's food is amazing. The bar itself is beautiful, a real oldschool catskill gem. Arcade, bowling, music, drinks. Really special vibe. Never change! <3

A group of hiking friends and I finally made it over to Slide Mt. Inn for some post hiking nourishment and what a gem this little restaurant/bar with bowling alley and billiards turned out to be. Wonderful old world authentic Germanic Catskill style interior with very cool historical art and objects. Nice selection of beers/ wine and special cocktails. Small but excellent menu and according to two fellow hikers, they had the 'BEST BRATWURST' they have ever eaten and these two are true carnivores. My spinach and cheese filled crepes were great as well as their salad of fresh greens. We ate inside but they do have a lovely lawn space for outside dining where there was also live music to drink to. Definitely put this on your 'Go To' list of places to visit when you're up in our beautiful Catskill Mountains.

Their wurst is the best. Seriously, great convivial atmosphere and their food is delicious. The family who owns it is very welcoming and makes all the food—the desserts are A+. Have eaten most everything on the menu — great authentic German fare. Great beers too. And they have a little bowling alley and pinball machines and we always have a fun time. A real gem of a place.

My husband, my 3 year old son and I took a short vacation to Slide Mountain Forest House and we absolutely loved it! The rooms and all of the amenities were spotless, everything was so clean and well maintained. The pool was great (even though the water was slightly cold) we enjoyed it a lot. They have plenty of outdoors entertainment areas, swings. tennis courts. basketball and volleyball courts. There is a creek running through their land and I must say it only made the place even more charming and fun for my son and for us. We will definitely be back very soon. Everyone was extremely nice and breakfast was so delicious. There is absolutely no signal but they have wifi in every building so we had no problems with that at all. My husband even managed to work a bit. The nearest town we found was Phoenicia, where they had cute little stores, a small grocery shop and some cool entertainment like the rail explorers. It was more than fantastic we loved it and can not wait to come back again soon. So worth the money and a great spot to relax and enjoy the beauty of the mountains.

Great choice and discovery, we will come back! The amenities, service and people at Slide Mountain were awesome and we enjoyed breakfasts, dinners in the restaurant, pool time, tennis, hikes, etc. Ralph had every single thing very well managed. Also we went in Covid time...but we felt absolutely safe as they established new controls and rules. About the restaurant, you should order pork ribs, beef rouladen and linzer tart. Thanks for the great experience!

We had a room # 7 - which can easily accommodate up to 5-6 people. Room was very clean with plenty of towels for us to use. 2 bathrooms- 1 with a shower/tub and the other one with toilet . Both had a nice size sink Room had a very lovey balcony overlooking gazebo. Dining area where breakfast ( made to order) was served had a rustic/homy feel. Breakfast - can’t say enough: Pancakes, eggs, bread, rolls, sausage or bacon jam, butter, yogurt with fresh fruit , juice, coffee, tea **** Lovely ? **** Ralph (owner) - very pleasant and a nice man. Pool and restaurant across the street. Water in the pool a little cold, but overall, all was pretty pleasant.

Since 1946 my wife’s family has vacationed here. In 1976, Jean took me up for a weekend and we were hooked!!

We were in town for a wedding nearby. We couldn't have been happier with our stay with Ralph and Daniela. Very homey atmosphere and super friendly hosts. Our room was large, clean, and comfortable. Bed was great, tv watching couch (which would have accommodated kids or another guest) was just right. Plenty of hangers in the closet, and lots of room in the dresser. Bathroom was plenty big, with a walk-in shower. The refrigerator made it convenient to keep our sodas, fruits, and leftovers. While we didn't really spend much time in the living room downstairs, it was a great space that would accommodate our family for game playing, reading, piano sing-alongs or just relaxing. The included full breakfast was made to order. The food was delicious, generous, and varied. There was something for everyone. The views were wonderful. Although it was raining the 2 days/nights we were there, the grounds were beautiful and had lots of space to walk, hike, jog or do a cook-out. The Inn has been in business in the same family (3 generations) since 1934. The family showed us super hospitality. If we return anywhere near the area we will definitely stay again at the Slide Mountain Forest House. (We live in Florida but have family nearby.) Thanks Ralph!!

Classic. Good place for German food. No idea how they got the potato pancakes so light! Lots of schnitzels.
