I have a long history with this building and it's previous owner, who is respectfully memorialized with a mural (RIP Hack). Used to be called The Pine Lounge. People who used to go to it now own it, so while the name has changed and some required changes have taken place (RIP the old record jukebox!) it spiritually feels like the same friendly place, with a new outdoors and a great local vibe. Not exactly for BU students, but not exactly NOT, either. They don't mind much who comes in as long as you're respectful. Buy a shirt. Make it your local spot if you live nearby, or if you want to escape the chaos of downtown. The pizzeria next door is actually pretty good too. Enjoy.
