What a delight!!!!! Trendy spot with a delicious and creative menu. Went for brunch,
My husband had the egg sandwich and wings, both were perfection.
I had the shrimp & grits. Smooth creamy grits, spicy delectable shrimp. Still thinking about it! Kids had the stuffed French toast, cleared their plates, woo hoo!
This place killed it!!!!! From the staff, to the decor, ambiance, music and menu…. They know what they are doing. One of our new go to spots when we are in town. Thank you Gem, we will be back soon!

Did not expect this to be hands-down the best BBQ food I’ve had in years. The naked wings were crazy delicious, and got to try each of the sauces at the table. Brisket was perfect, and ribs and sides were flavorful. Customer service was excellent considering small lake town in the middle of winter.

Very tasty and cozy. They were accomadating to my no res party of 6 at 6pm on a Sat. My 6 and 9 yo enjoyed the thighs and tots. Everyone was happy.

Uniquely delicious cocktails. Scrumptious sauces. Amazing smoked wings. Cozy modern cabin vibes. Friendly staff and service. Also, small cubed ice (Sonic style).

Good food. Good atmosphere. Terrible waitress. Rude. Not helpful with questions we had. Acted like we were inconveniencing her. Never came back to get us more drinks. Terrible. Won’t go back.

The Gem is the first place I've been to where the name fits the restaurant perfectly. From the manager Bob to our server Abby and the bartenders who unfortunately are Un named , every piece of our experience was perfect. It's the best BBQ you'll find in upstate ny with a mixology bar to boot. From appetizers to mains and desserts there isn't a thing I would change all I would recommend is to try it all.

Was very surprised by this place. Didn’t expect to have the best pulled pork and smoked chicken i’ve ever tried. The brisket was excellent, but the ribs slightly overcooked. The sides were ok. The drink menu was excellent- with unique choices and good variety. The outdoor seating had a fire-pit, which added to the atmosphere. The only negative is the selection of bbq sauces. I didn’t appreciate any of them. Despite this shortcoming, this place should not be missed if you are in town.

This place truly is a gem!! Such a unique and delicious menu of quality meats and delicious sides. My partner and I started with the chicken wings, opting for the dry rub and then using the caddy of house sauces as suggested by our wonderful waitress! We then shared the 3 meat combo with potato salad and cheesy corn. Everything was phenomenal, but the potato salad truly stood out as the best we've ever had. He and I struggled to carry a conversation because we were distracted by every bite we took!! Even the non-alcoholic drinks were crafted to perfection— I can’t stop thinking about my ginger beer! Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a fun and exceptional meal!

The food must have changed since the food review by Susie Davidson Powell . As I go to many places that she has recommended. I would give it a 4, but the other guests that were with me were not thrilled. My rack of ribs were a bit dry. I had to really pour the sauce on them. I prefer them served wet with sauce . But the quality of the meat was very good. They made a good Negroni on the first drink, and the second one was served in the wrong glass, minus the ice cube. The mixologist must have been in a rush. As there was a crowd at the bar. But they quickly replaced my drink. The Gin Fizz was excellent. The Frozen Rose was not memorable. The beans were not nearly as good as Suzie reviewed. No burnt ends in the beans. The tortilla dip appetizer is a total pass. The brisket had phenomenal flavor. The Cowboy Caviar is refreshing. Wings appetizer was tasty. They need better side dishes. Out of five people, two of us were happy with their meal. The other three might not go back. I will give them another try.
