A good place for meal when visiting George Lake. Good scenery views while enjoying your meal. For those who like rice and prawn the Hawaiian prawn dish is highly recommended; it’s really good with fragrance rice. Wing items so so only. I would have given a 5 rating for food if not for this.
Although I'm not technically a local, my husband and I do a yearly visit to Lake George and we always find a way to get to the Algonquin. We love that you can pull up with your boat and the polite young people help you tie off your boat. Getting a table can sometimes be challenging during the busy time so a reservation is recommended. The place seems a little dated inside with the plastic tablecloths and our table was a bit wobbly. It was dark inside too.
Service was good and our waitress was very attentive. She checked on us often and seemed very nice. We ordered burgers and they were both very juicy and cooked perfectly. Love the crunchy French fries too.
