Classic full service American diner with great food, generous portions, great service (service with a smile), reasonable priced, a large place with no rush atmosphere.
Vegetarian options: I had a portobello panini/tomato/mozzarella. Came with fries, coleslaw and a pickle. They have avocados, smoothies, salad.
Parking: Large, free parking. You can park close to the diner.

From order to delivery to the table, this delicious breakfast was faster than a drive-thru. Pleasant atmosphere. Friendly, experienced waitress who refilled coffee, checked on satisfaction with the meal, etc without hovering. Clean. Restroom sign visible from most tables. Central seating/payment. I couldn't rate this place higher as a relaxing pause during an interstate journey.

Ever Ready Diner is a staple in Brewster/Carmel area. It WAS a really great diner at one time & has been in business a long time - however, something has shifted in the last year or so. Now it is dirty, staff don’t give a ish about customers they are playing loud unprofessional music, there is no courtesy anymore also the floors and windows are filthy. Flies are all over & flying over your food. Food: Now Ever Ready is just mediocre. Have been a few times in the last 2 months. When I get a burger, it’s always done right, no problems. It’s when I venture out to something other than a typical burger that I take a chance on. For example: In July I had a Shrimp wrap - recommended by waitress- shrimp was not fresh & had a fishy taste. Left it right on the plate. Another time in July Re: salad with chicken, the chicken was so tough, overdone. Who’s cooking for Ever Ready? Another time in August - scrambled eggs & French toast - French toast was soggy in the middle. Bathroom: both the men’s bathroom and the women’s bathroom need an update. No one is cleaning them. There is dirty tissues all over the floor, the mirrors are dirty, Why is there an open garbage can with feminine products for every one to see in the stall? Disgusting! Waitress: The waitress had a terrible attitude & her perfume was so strong ( a combination of sweat and patchouly) that it lingered even after she left the area.

Great service. They actually answer the phone and give suggestions when your ask! I was traveling with a puppy so the helpfulness and ability to pick up at door was greatly appreciated. I ordered a steak that was large, excellent quality and prepared perfectly medium rare as requested. Manager even made puppy a little potato without seasoning!

Kid-friendliness: Clean restaurant with good value.

The Eveready is never a disappointment. Burgers and breakfasts are really good here, but so are the club sandwiches and dinners. The service is always good too. And every time I go here, I tell my wife the same old joke. "What did the potato chip say to the battery? A: If you're Eveready, I'm Frito Lay.
Back when opened great diner. Over the years has declined. Check out and service very slow. Food average at best. Updating the review to include, very dirty, ceilings disgusting. Outside has been ignored. Some status of food and service.
