Roadside shop with a decent amount of local and fall items. A bit hidden but worth the visit. Options for food, decoration, and friendly vibes.

This place is great to stop by on the way to do some of the orchard apple picking and general fall activities.

We didn’t happen to stay too long but it does have a little seating/eating area to hang out and enjoy the fall weather and sights too.

10/20/24. We originally wanted to go to a different orchard but they said they were at capacity and in the future we should reserve entry online two weeks in advance. So we searched Google maps for other orchards nearby and salingers was very close. I called and they said come we have space. Well it was lovely. I enjoyed it very much. No picking, but plenty of pumpkins in all sizes. And mums in all sizes also. Inside the store they had a bakery with pies and breads. Candles, juices sauces, sweets and a whole lot more. It was wonderful. They also have a food truck with barbeque food and live music. I'm going again next year.

Salinger’s Orchard in Brewster, NY, Salinger’s Orchard is perfect for those looking for a more intimate, traditional farm experience. The focus on high-quality farm products, particularly their bakery and fresh produce, makes it a top spot for foodies. If you’re seeking a laid-back atmosphere with great food and a touch of apple picking, this is a wonderful place to visit.

1. Apple Picking: While Salinger’s Orchard is more focused on its farm store than large-scale apple picking, they do offer pick-your-own apples in a more relaxed setting compared to other orchards. The selection of apples is often praised for its quality, with a wide variety of apple types available.
2. Farm Store: The on-site farm store is the real standout. It offers a wide range of homemade baked goods, fresh produce, jams, pies, and their famous apple cider donuts. Visitors often rave about the freshness and taste of their baked goods, particularly the pies, which are considered some of the best in the area.
3. Cider and Donuts: Like many orchards, their apple cider donuts are a huge draw. These are often highlighted as a must-try, along with their fresh-pressed apple cider, which is available in the fall.
4. Friendly Atmosphere: Salinger’s Orchard has a reputation for being friendly and welcoming. The staff is often noted for their helpfulness and knowledge about their products, making it a pleasant shopping experience.
5. Scenic and Relaxed: The orchard offers a more peaceful and less commercial experience compared to some larger orchards in the region. It’s perfect for those looking for a quiet outing without the crowds and fanfare of bigger operations.

Things to Consider:

1. Limited Activities: Unlike some of the more tourist-oriented orchards, Salinger’s doesn’t offer as many activities like hayrides, corn mazes, or petting zoos. This can be a plus for those looking for a calm, no-frills visit, but families with kids looking for more entertainment might prefer other orchards.
2. Smaller Scale: The apple-picking area is more limited compared to larger orchards, so visitors who prioritize this activity may want to check availability and selection during their visit.
3. Seasonal Crowds: While Salinger’s is less crowded than bigger attractions, it can still get busy during peak apple season and weekends. However, the overall vibe remains more relaxed compared to some of the more commercial orchards nearby.

This place is amazing. Has all the small town vibes . Fresh baked pies and pastry. Customer service is amazing. Definitely will visit again. I just wished it was closer to the city. Plus the food truck was really good. The best thing is the store is not over priced in my opinion. Food truck is pricey but worth it.

A great market for local produce, baked goods, meats and cheeses, and decor (mums, pumpkins, corns, etc.). Tasty cider donuts with music and a food truck out of an old bus outside in peak fall made fire a fun stop.

Been long time friends of the fourth generation Salinger’s. We never miss a fall season without at least one visit and taking home some delicious homemade treats!

I wouldn't call it an orchard since you can't really pick anything personally. It's really just like a small farmers store. They have everything homemade grown and homegrown for you to purchase. Tons of homemade pastries, pies, candies, jams, cider, candles, cakes, cookies etc. It's not that big of a place, so I definitely wouldn't say it's a place to plan a family trip for the day.

I will say I bought cookies and pastries and they were actually fresh and amazing!!
They sell fresh pulled pork sandwiches, BBQ and beer outside that has picnic tables. I got there a little after 4 pm and all the sides were all sold out, so I was disappointed that I wasn't able to try any hot food.

This charming family-run farm store offers a variety of local products in a cozy, vintage setting. The donuts and pastries are exceptional, and they serve fresh hot apple cider and coffee to go.

There's even a fascinating live indoor beehive near the register, where you can watch the bees come and go through a small outdoor access point!

Very nice little orchard. Baked on site, bread and pie, food truck and southern music for lunch. Reasonably priced. You can't pick your own apples, but you can certainly buy some for a good price.

Parents would stop into Salinger's when I was very young and when I walk in there today it smells the same exact way it did years ago! Great pastries and fruits.
