I have been going for almost 30 years and I'm sorry to say the food does not taste like puerto Rican food anymore. I bought chicharon de Pollo boneless and it was not season it came with salad the salad was cabbage I think they lost a customer..

Cuz I found out this place is this to the when I started seeing this place I started buying from it since 2000 I've been buying my Cuban sandwiches my rice and beans and my assorted foods and it's great it's never changes the people are nice excellent for our neighborhood we have something good every neighborhood got his own restaurants 188 has one and I appreciate it keep on doing good work
I grew up coming here, I travel across the country to stop here first. Though after this last visit I'm sure I'll never return. There was two woman and a man behind the counter. I waited 15 mins in front of them, while they continued to skip over me. When I finally had enough and said something the lady was like I have to take these men first then you. Like what the hell is that!!! I said I've been here for 15 mins and they literally just walked in. She continued to argue that she had to take care of them first and then me. I said no and walked away while my family got their food from the lighter slightly more personable women. After today I doubt I'll return.

The food in this particular cuchifrito/restaurant is very delicious. I had a fried fish with salad and my wife had a soup/mondongo with white rice. We certainly enjoyed it.I must say that the seating is a bit uncomfortable and space is very limited. The tables are very small. I recommend taking out your food. There is no wheelchair access and no restrooms. However, the food is absolutely delicious, excellent, and sabroso!
I love the food but they a little rude. I always ask to pay for extra mojito and the tall darker lady acts like I ask for her man. One of the other workers always sneak me extra. Idk what that lady problem is but her face when I come in!!! It doesn't matter how nice I am or how big my smile is And I don't want to say it bc she is darker than me but you know how that goes.

Great authentic Puerto Rican foodVery small place with limited seatingVery busy but worth the wait .
Inexpensive authentic Latin/ Puerto Rican/ Dominican food....I tend to go for the fritters or Cuchifritos! My favorites are the Relleno de papa (Fried Potato ball with meat inside) and Alcapurria (Fried Yuca with meat inside). Perfect for on the go. Wash it down with Ajonjoli (Sesame Seed juice).... YOU'RE WELCOME!Kid-friendliness: Laid back environment.Wheelchair accessibility: Small space, but it is wheelchair accessible... not sure about the bathroom though
Great Authentic Puerto Rican food! 10/10 recommend.
