Went to buy turkey tail yesterday, was told 2 for $5 dollars. Told her I want for $15 and to cut please: Went to pay and saw $20 and some cents asked the reason for the $20 and some and was told that because she cut plus tax and to that it is all mentioned in the app. Which app Madame? I came there after google searching for an African restaurant in the area. I thanked and left her with her cut turkey tails.

I believe I was unfairly charged and felt scammed by this transaction. I paid in cash but was still required to pay tax, which raised concerns about whether that tax is properly reported to the government. When I questioned this, the employee said she would consult her manager, who insisted tax applies even to cash payments. This explanation does not align with my understanding, and I am requesting a clear justification.
Happy Jamaican here 🤣
Ayoyo and stew
And egusi with fufu. (Jah Jah it nice)
I use to go to Mama G but now this place has won my heart and they were so nice and willing to give me the experience I wanted at home through DoorDash it felt like a culture experience for my children and I and thank you for your customer service! It was truly felt!

Customer service is absolutely poor. The Staff will see you waiting at the counter to order and yet
completely ignore you. Their attitude and demeanor is terrible.

Customer service great. Food so good. Great portions too. I ordered a lil bit of most things off the menu for my family Day 1 Kwanzaa meal. I will be eating here more often.

Food is really bad, sweet plantain looks like it’s been sitting there for weeks and they sold it to me. Wasted my money for nothing, highly disappointed

Food was good the staffs are pretty friendly. Space is limited here though. You’re better off doing a takeout.

African Home moved to Jerome Ave, but the flavors stayed back at Tremont ave. African Home used to serve the best waakye & fish at Tremont. Since moving to Jerome Ave, it’s been downhill , the fish harder than rocks, waakye drier than harmattan pawpaw, stew tastes like “tin tomantoes”. Even my old SHS boarding school dining hall cooked better. Yes, the vibe is nice, but food and service are subpar.
Oh dat big glass barrier plus loud music means you’re shouting just to place an order. Huge letdown.
African Home once set the standard ; now, sadly, it struggles to meet even the basics.
