Ali’s Roti Shop on White Plains Road is a solid Trinidadian Caribbean spot that really hits the mark. They have a great selection of doubles you can go with the regular chickpea version or add saltfish, shrimp, or chicken depending on what you’re in the mood for. The flavors are very good and taste authentic, just like proper Trinidad food should. Another big plus is how fast the food comes out, even when they’re busy. Definitely a go to spot in the Bronx when you’re craving doubles.

Ok this is not my first time eating here at Ali’s in the Bronx but yall played in my face tonight. I bought a curry chicken and dhalpuri and the curry was watery bad. Yall ain’t even try to mix it up and add back flavor. It’s like yall poured water into the take out dish to stretch the gravy. I get that it was close to closing time but rather than trying to make a sale and disappointing a returning customer and a new customer with watered down curry, I rather you guys just say it’s finished especially when I came out in the freezing cold to come get it. What makes it worst is the fact my friend came from Harlem asked me the best Roti spot in the Bronx and I sent her over there. The chicken had no flavor I had to add my own seasoning. No suh I’m disappointed bad. Ill drive over Brooklyn next time cause yall ain’t right

The customers that hold up the line are the worst part of coming here constantly asking dumb questions. There's a whole menu board of the food they serve and u have ppl asking about does oxtails have bones. Do some research on the food u want to get before wasting ppls time. Other than that nonsense the doubles here a pretty good and so is the curry chicken buss up

I absolutely love this place. I love Ali's so much that I travel from Connecticut all the way back to the Bronx to enjoy there food. I have enjoyed their boneless chicken roti for years. But now since they moved to their new location, they have added some delicious new options. I never had Doubles so good. Now the add chicken, or beef, or shrimp, you name it they probably add it. Delicious!!!!!! The customer service is thru the roof wonderful. The prices are very workable. All in all this is an amazing place through and through. If your ever in the Bronx and find yourself on Whiteplains Rd, make your way up to 235th street and check out Ali's. I promise you wont be disappointed....I give you my personal stamp of approval. This place is ELLERBY certified.

I does hate when people waste my time. I came to order a buss up with boneless chicken, two order of pholourie, and a sorrel. The lady tell me $21 . I went to get the cash from the bank, come back and paid. When I get home I had no pholourie. I don’t live close to this place. So I called the restaurant and told them what happened. I spoke with Ali and he said to come back and pick it up. When I get there the next day the lady tell me, she never charge me for no pholourie, and showed me a receipt. I ask well how if I told you I want two and then you give me the price? But she don’t know and she ain’t charge for it. So then I want to know why Ali didnt tell me that. Then he ain’t there so now to feel like my time ain’t waste I just pay for it. On top of that the lady demeanor as if she don’t care that the man said to come pick it up with no charge. The waste time ain’t worth it because the chicken did taste old. And there was no pumpkin, spinach or mango chutney in the buss up. Just lone chicken and potatoe. I hope this pholourie taste good mein. Miserable.

In one word…NASTY! I ordered a curry goat roti which was completely dry with no gravy. The shell (I can’t remember what it is called) is also dry and crumbly! I can’t remember what kind of roti my aunt ordered, but she threw her meal away when she got home! Also, my aunt and I were having a pleasant enough conversation with the owner until it turned offensive. He felt the need to school my aunt and I on the “problem with Black people” which he felt was too much religion. I didn’t say anything because the food was already paid for. We are African American and the comment was very off putting. To the owner, sir…NOBODY ASKED! With that attitude, you would think the food was on point! Even if the food was delicious, apparently he has strong opinions about Africa Americans. That alone would keep me from patronizing this business.

The roti taste like Ali roti’s personality less than to be desired. I ordered a simple chicken roti with pumpkin.
I got a chicken neck bone stew wrapped up in flour roti with a half a teaspoon of pumpkin I needed a magnifying glass to find the pumpkin and lots of chicken fat, when I clearly asked for no fat . and I also got a stomachache don’t need to come back here ever truly lousy..

Solid roti spot, been coming here for years. Mostly come for the doubles and roti. Expect a bit of a wait depending on the day and time you come, it can be a while. The cashier is also the food preparer so patience must be exhibited, there's always an angry bunch so hold your own.

First and last time at Ali’s! Doubles is not authentic trini doubles the Channa tasted like it for roti not doubles! I was so excited to find a place in the Bronx for doubles because I moved from queens but since trying this place I’ll take that drive to queens when I want doubles! Also asked for bandania sauce and didn’t get any if he didn’t have he should have said something!

I loooveee this place!!!! The doubles are delicious and so is the curry chicken roti and poulorie, the lady at the register is always nice. Whenever I go to the Bronx I have to stop for some delicious Trini goodies!!! The only negative is that they only take cash but other than that, this place is a 2 thumbs up!!!
