The owner is a genius !! Delicious food, great customer service and amazing vegan recipes definitely get her cookbook you will love it !
Placed an order for shipping. Spend over 150$ all together and by the time the food got to me it was bad. I reached out and she offered me a discount toward my next purchase. If I spend 150 and received bad food why would I spend more?! The packaging was terrible one small strip of ice in an over sized box with nothing to keep it cold or from moving around. I was real excited when I placed the order but have been so disappointed.
Food was amazing! Everything from the service to the ambience, I highly recommend everything on the menu
THE BEST VEGAN FOOD IVE HAD SINCE BECOMING A VEGAN 7 years ago !!đ±đ±đ±
Delicious food! I catered from Black Rican Vegan for a work event and everyone (56+ people) loved the food. Definitely the best vegan vendor in NYC. Wish I would've take more pics. Thank you Lyana for your help and assistance on sight!
Horrible place, takes a long time to get the food and doesn't accept credit cards

ÂĄBuen provecho! After stalking her instagram for THE LONGEST, and practically begging her to come to STL, I finally made it to NYC. For the first time in my life, I took the subway (all by myself too!), about a 45 minute ride one way just to make it to her food. I placed my order after I exited the subway (due to connectivity issues on the train). It was only like a 5 minute walk from the station to La Fonda so the food wasnât quite ready yet. No worries. I sat at La Fondaâs bar and enjoyed the music and good vibes from the restaurantâs staff and customers. The food took a while to prepare (I ordered a lot though), so keep that in mind if youâre on a schedule. When the young man brought my food, he apologized for the wait. It was an easy Sunday for me, so I had no issues with the wait. However, I did decide to sit at the bar and eat my food.VACALAITO:3 nicely sized fritters, made from hearts of palm, if I remember correctly. Very tasty! I ate my leftovers today - 3 days later, and they were even better! (Warm up the leftovers in air fryer for best results)BEEFLESS EMPANADA:Shouldâve ordered 2 because Iâm craving more. You get one large empanada. It was so tasty and the beef was seasoned exquisitely! 10/10 would order again!(If you like a lil spice, order the chipotle sauce for dipping. So yum!!)MOXTAILS:Freggin fire. FIYAH!! The dinner came with moxtails (vegan/mock oxtails), white rice (they were out of their arroz con gandules), shredded cabbage, y maduros.I added her Cilantro Garlic sauce to plain the rice and OMG OMG!! Do it!! I ended up ordering 6 cilantro garlic sauces and 3 chipotle sauces; theyâre that good!I donât know what she uses for her moxtails, but the flavor and texture are insanely succulent. No weird chewy consistency to it at all.Initially it appeared that the portion was small, but it ended up being very filling and plentiful. 10/10 would order again.BISTEC ENCEBOLLADO:A vegan spin to a classic Latin Caribbean dish. This plate is hefty! A huge portion of vegan bistec is accompanied by white rice, pink beans, tostones, y ensalada. I only took a nibble of this on Sunday, but today/Wednesday, I warmed it up and ate the rest. The flavors have settled in and itâs better today than it was Sunday.I spent @ $75 before the tip, which is decent for 2 meals and 2 appetizers. So many other things that I want to try from Black Rican Vegan, so I cannot wait to return!

False advertising. Menu is limited, service was horrible, food took forever, lipstick prints on glass cups, waiters didnât speak English and to top it off a hair in my mimosa and I witnessed the waiter use a strainer and pour it into a different glass, worst experience NEVER AGAIN!!!

Learned about this chef and restaurant on Tabitha Brown's social media. The food was amazing. Everything was flavorful, and the sauces just made the food pop. It's clear that the chef put a ton of effort into making her food delicious. She even has a cookbook. During our visit, I just wished that the same effort was made on the service. It's not the chef's fault, maybe it was, but we waited for a table for 45 minutes and the restaurant wasn't full. It was confusing at first seeing a number of empty tables, but we realized at some point while we were waiting for our order, the food was behind schedule and there were many patrons waiting for their orders to make it to their table. It was never communicated to us when we were waiting for a table, except "it will be a few minutes." Good customer service goes a long way. We still would've waited, but at least being informed manages our expectations.

The best vegan food I have ever had! I have been vegetarian almost 2 years now I drive almost 2 hours as often as I can to get some of this delicious food!!! Just got the cookbook the other day and will be trying my first recipe today I know it wonât even be half as good because of all the love she puts into her cooking!

The menu confused me, chopped cheese no egg roll⊠I thought âwhat!? I wanted the egg roll so now you only have a chopped cheese sandwich ?â She was âNOoooooo Herald, it is an egg roll but without eggâ I ordered it and moved on âŠ. It wasnât bad for vegan food.I wanted to wash things down with a drink and I saw the 6$ moxtail (jackfruit) and assumed it must be a very tasty cocktail ?, it was not, it is a simple stuffed empanada that doesnât add much to her menu, she should replace it with her lentil patty ?. There are some holes in your naming conventions game. This place is overhyped, it is good, but not great, itâs greasy vegan street food.

Iâve been a customer of Lyanaâs since before her business started when she was just meal prepping and sheâs the one who got me into eating healthier. Her food is delicious and her customer service is unmatched.
met the ceo today n was srsly disappointed. complete 180 frm social media persona. energy was stank even w me being polite n excited to try for the 1st time. the reviews must be ppl that donât cook bc food was mediocre n with how skimp my plate was, i promise youâre better off buying her book n cooking yourself. not supporting the horrible customer service or overpriced food.

I have been supporting this business for years. Iâm leaving a review because it has come to my attention that someone is leaving negative reviews to hurt a business I love dearly. Lyana, the owner is a true pioneer in the Afro Latina Community. Her work and brand speaks for itself. (Google her) She has created an entire genre of food, and never forgot about her people along the way. Supporting a business for the food is one thing, but I choose to support this business because SHE and her staff, are apart of my community. She employs people, she stays true to her roots and she does so with grace. I hope that if your reading this you get to experience her business and her light. The only thing I wish is that she was able to have a restaurant already so I can order at my leisure! Oh, and try the chopped cheese egg rolls. Game changing! #Teamblackricanveganforever
