Iconic and legendary if I go to Arthur Avenue, I have to stop at Cosenza Fish market, and have the freshest oysters shucked right in front of me by the most handsome man in the world Phil! ask for Phil he will make you smile and laugh and knowledgeable and has the best sense of humor. Visiting little Italy in the Bronx it’s a must to visit Cosenza Fish market where you get the freshest fish. An Italian family owned business through the generations.

The freshest seafood. Nothing frozen here

To my mind, no trip to the area is complete without a pit stop at one of the street’s duelling outdoor shellfish stands—especially in the autumn, when the air is just a little too chilly, and being outdoors feels like a treat. The two ersatz raw bars, one outside Cosenza’s Fish Market, on the east side of Arthur Avenue, the other outside Randazzo’s Seafood, across the street and a little down the block, are where you can get various shellfish shucked to order, devouring them à la minute while standing around on the sidewalk.

Incredibly fresh seafood. Just had half a dozen cherry stone clams and half a dozen oysters with my wife at the street stand, and we were blown away by the quality and taste. You absolutely must try this place if you stop by Arthur Avenue.

I was walking around Arthur Avenue and saw a sign that made my soul start to shudder with anxious anticipation, "Oyster Bar."I was visiting, so couldn't take any of the delicious fish home from the inside market, but we stood outside and ate oysters from Massachusetts, Connecticut, West Coast and Canada...on the sidewalk, at their outdoor oyster/clam bar!The prices of oysters were competitive, but the real deal was on the clams on the half shell. The employee shucked them as we waited and there were all kinds of sauces to try, as well as lemon.Highly recommended, and delicious!

Besides being a great fish market with good prices and friendly service, you can eat fresh oysters right outside ... on the street! ... at their outdoor bar area where they have lemon, hot sauce, cocktail sauce and other things to dress your oysters as you slam them down! That is about as old school street fair as you can get. I highly recommend.

I don't like fish, so I rarely shopped here, but Cosenza's is typical of locally owned & operated shops that line Arthur Avenue, bustling with activity, & so bursting with product that they have to take up space on the sidewalk with all the excess. Sometimes, while doing my own shopping or heading to & from work when I stopped by an office in the neighborhood, I'd catch myself people watching & imagine they were haggling over the cost of some fish.

I wasn’t thinking of seafood since it’s 8am and I came here for coffee and pastry. I passed by and just walked in and saw the seafood, I had to try. They are so fresh and so good that I have to have another plate. What a way to start off breakfast ?

For holidays we always make a traditional fish soup (halaszle) in Hungary. The only fish we use in it is the carp and catfish, both very important ingredients for richness and to get the flavor. This is the only store where I got this beautiful piece, they also clean and cut it in slices, to get ready for cooking. I choose on the ice, the cold fresh oysters!

Was shopping on Arthur Ave . And we stop by this outdoor seafood stand in front of the store ! We ordered, half-Dozen blue point Clams , half dozen Oysters, and 4 shrimp w/ cocktail sauce on the side ! The clams were very good and yummy too! They shucked them right in front of you! There's no SEATING area , just stand and eat . The oysters, seem a but watery, so I had to drain mine for every bite or slurp I took ! . The shrimps are basically on Ice . But there are tasty w/ the cocktail sauce on them .. my bill was $28 total , maybe they add tax on . But overall the meal was good ... they have paper towels on the table as napkins for use. We didn't go inside the store to buy anything else but what was outside. And we paid in cash .
