We frequently have dinner here traveling from Manhattan. Franco and Tony's are by far the best Italian restaurant in the city and more than worth the travel time. Service is impeccable, food outstanding - we are always warmly greeted. It does not get any better. Very romantic ambience. 5+ stars.

We love coming to this restaurant because they make you feel so welcomed and the food is good. Today my wife ordered the special of Branzino fish with little neck clams and capellini. She said the fish had to taste, so they didn't season the fish when cooking it and before throwing sauce on it. The clams were so little and they only gave her 5 which they could have given a half dozen for the price of $40. It's funny how restaurants will read you the specials but won't tell you the price. We don't mind paying good money for something we want but that was really expensive for a special when the special isn't seasoned well. The special should be extraordinary not just a plain dish. The little clams had more taste than the Branzino. My wife also ordered the portobello with spinach and shrimp to go and that definitely didn't taste like the one we ordered to eat at the restaurant. The first time it didn't look appealing but at least it was tasty. This one to go something was really off about it and the smell wasn't that great either. Bad day? I had the chicken parmigiana with capellini and it was really tasty. What can you do wrong with this dish if the sauce is tasty? Well that one time my wife ordered the eggplant parmigiana and the mozzarella was overcooked that it almost looked dry not nice and cheesy like the chicken parm always looks. She said it was good and she had to add extra mozzarella to the leftovers at home. I still think this restaurant is a great gem for the neighborhood and we love going there, the staff and the ambiance. Sometimes you have hit and misses although a special shouldn't be a miss, but it will not prevent us from going back to enjoy everything.
My wife and I went on Christmas Day. They had a Price Fix dinner for $85.00. It was definitely not worth it. I had the short rib and it was horrible. It looked like pot roast and had a lot of grizzle. My wife had the rib eye steak. If it were any thinner, you'd be able to see through it.
