I would love to give my honest opinion of this establishment, but due to circumstances, I feel incredibly uncomfortable to do so.
The food is good but my issue with this place is that if you write a comment concerning employee misconduct, they'll threaten legal action against you and then allow said employee to not take accountability (or apologize for that matter) . I will not be back due to the fact free speech is being censored for ratings and giving an honest review leads to legal repercussions . The first time I came I wanted to leave a $20 tip and I don't know if it was the owner or co owner but I was informed to not leave a tip because the employees didn't deserve it. I'm saddened that this businesses doesn't care to treat workers and patrons alike with respect.

Best burek in all of NYC hands down. I can never really find pita and burek with cabbage , leek, or pumpkin, but Dea has all of them.
Perfectly crispy, flaky, not greasy, full of ingredients, and made with love, this food brings me back to my grandmother’s cooking from my childhood.

Burek is okay, flaky, but on a greasier side. Issue is here service. Today woman behind the counter was not hospitable at all. After she told us (in a very arrogant way) that the only choice is sliced burek, we placed the order. Two with cheese and yogurt. After we waited about half an hour (on a Tuesday 3pm half empty place) we went to check on our order. It was behind the counter, but she didn’t serve it to us for some reason. Also she said that they are out of trays so burek was given on a paper plate. Not going back and not recommending this place to anyone.

I’ve never had Albanian/balkan cuisine but I will definitely have more!! Very delicious burek with crispy outside and the ayran was also very tasty. Pretty good for the price, and very small wait time.

The burek is good overall but too much black pepper for my taste, I didn’t feel comfortable feeding my kid with it. I will definitely give it another try for different pies. It looks very clean and the staff was very friendly
Dea Burek is a lovely spot, and it’s especially nice to have the option to sit outdoors in the warmer months. The burek is made fresh—straight out of the oven—and you can truly taste the difference. We had the meat slice and absolutely loved it. We also brought home some cheese burek, and it was a huge hit with the family. Easily one of the best bureks I’ve had in New York.
