Environment is nice and food is tasty.
When you are able to get the food fresh it is very good, authentic Nigerian food. And the best/only in the Bronx.

The Egusi soup and pounded yam I got was horrible. I can’t even describe how the soup taste. oh yeah, it’s that bad. the pounded yam was half cold and half hot meaning it wasn’t made from scratch or that day. The nwobi same thing, the moi moi I have not tried hopefully it will taste better hopefully.

Restaurantji Recommends
I came 3 times to try my favorites: egusi soup, red stew & pounded yam. The goat wasn’t that fresh & the soup was ok. Tasted like it was refrigerated. Second time, same order. The egusi was very dry but the goat was fresh. Last try, same order no difference. I’m in love with Nigerian food & this is the only Nigerian restaurant in the Bronx. I really want to try again but I can’t keep spending money.

I bought egusi soup, red stew and pounded yam. The egusi was ok. It seems they put a lot of egusi in the soup & a little bit of spinach. The red stew tasted like tomato sauce out of a jar & wasn’t very flavorful. The goat meat wasn’t spoiled but it wasn’t very fresh & had a pungent smell. By the next day it was not edible. I’m not sure how many chefs they have so I don’t want to assume the food is always like this. I’d like to try the food again but after spending $45, I’m not sure if I’ll go back. This is the only Nigerian restaurant I could find in the Bronx so I’m really upset. A lot of restaurants in New York are hit & miss some are consistently good. This might be a hit or miss restaurant so if I go back, I’ll change my review.
It's about the only place (I know of) one can get authentic Nigerian food. Food is 4 stars. Also impressed that they have kept AND maintained great ambience. One time I was there toilet looked shabby, by the time I returned 2 weeks.. all redone. It's the little things that count..All said and done, it's a restaurant and the food is gooooood!!
