It was all delicious, if more Viennese in style than pastries I've enjoyed in pasticcerie of the (northern Italian) Veneto region. We selected an eye- and palate-pleasing assortment to bring to native Italian friends who live upstate. The counterperson was patient and friendly, and made a tasteful arrangement of the sweets in our carryout box. The place is old but clean.

Parking: On a midweek morning in January there was little difficulty finding a spot.

Carmela makes the best Italian cookies I’ve ever eaten outside of Italy. Charming cookie and pastry shop with delicious sugar cookies, toroonne and biscotti. This place is a gem!

I paid $6 or $6.5 for a Cannoli that is hollow with no filling? Seriously? No thank you and disappointed for an establishment with this reputation. My first time here and everything else was great, which is why I gave 2 stars instead of one, but this feels low brow and cheap.

I’ve been coming to this bakery since I was a little girl, and it’s truly a staple in my life. My mother would take my siblings and I to pick out our favorite pastries, and we’d head across the street to the park to enjoy them. 36 years later, it’s amazing to see that everything still tastes the same and looks the same—there’s something so comforting and nostalgic about that consistency. This bakery is a gem in Little Italy, and it’s hands down my favorite spot in the neighborhood. Whether you’re a longtime customer or a first-timer, you’ll fall in love with the timeless quality and charm that makes this place special. The customer service is what keeps me going too. I love how welcoming the ladies are here.

Parking: Meter parking (street parking)

Kid-friendliness: Kids love dessert but it’s a cozy bakery

This such a great place to stop and grab a hot chocolate, a coffee and some pastries during the holidays. The service is great and the atmosphere amazing. The workers are so nice and polite. Me and my family had such a nice time.

Great service - even if it seems a bit chaotic they take care of everyone with love and a bit of NY attitude. My kind of place! The cookies are all fresh and delicious but came here for rainbow cookies or ā€˜tri-colors’ and they didn’t disappoint! I started with three and ending up getting 10 more to go share with the family.

A wonderful pastry shop with seemingly endless choices of baked goods. There are a few tables if you decide to eat in. Handicap friendly and street parking. They also do custom birthday and wedding cakes.

Egidio saved my sibling’s birthday. The fruit cake was delicious and I loved how they decorated the cake. I will com back for a quick bite of their delicious pastries!

Vegetarian options: Virtually all of the ingredients are vegetarian, and you may ask for a custom made cake with non-dairy ingredients, for example.

Took home mini cannolis and they had no filling in the middle. I may have to switch pastry shops in the Arthur Ave area.

Bland pastry, Italian napoleon had no flavor custard was curdled and the pastry was dry and no sweetness. The sfogliatelles were the worse I’ve ever had , I spit it out it was SO DRY - the pastry was so dry like they put no butter in it. Eclair flavorless.
