The food itself is great. The service is hit or miss depending on date/time/crowdedness.
They are a bit messy with serving plates don’t always practice the best and cleanest methods of serving but if you can get past the old school mentality the food is awesome. I recommend freshly made plates over Food under heat lights. The fritura is good but not the best they have to offer. Their Morcilla is probably the best in the northeast hands down. Authenticity at its best.

They throw food off the spoon before putting it on your plate. It’s like they’re saying I’m giving your more than you’re suppose to have.. I understand inflation but it’s the price is gonna go up on the meal, then the portion size shouldn’t decrease. If you ask for a little bit more rice in your place, they’re gonna look at you as though you’re asking for them to commit a crime. Meanwhile I’ve been going here for years and the customer service was NEVER this bad

I was disappointed more than a year ago by the lechon. I decided to give it another try. Once again I was disappointed. The pork was dry and unseasoned. I will not be going back for lechon. I had potato salad and it was good. I order pulpo salad for my husband. He hasn't tried it yet.

Worst food ever. The blood sausages were dry, old, and falling apart. The rice had no flavor, and the pork tasted spoiled. I complained immediately and was issued a refund. People, if you enjoy bad food and wasting your money, this is the place for you!
Please note: No employee there is Puerto Rican. They are just using the name!!!

Worst experience ever
Yup that’s hair. It comes free of charge!
Won’t recommend.
I've been going to this place for over 20+ years with my family! It remains one of the best places to get crispy pork and rice and beans in the bronx! New owners have come along and other dishes they sell dont really hold up to the level of the pork. Stick with the crispy pork and you will be in 5 star heaven!
Always yummy! Chicharron de cerdo, the rice and beans, the mofongo, all yummy and wash it all down w an ice cold lemonade.

The food is not the same don't dine in the place on east Tremont has a lot of fly i found a gray hair on my plastic fork
Should of listened to the previous reviews. There seems to be a salt shortage at Bohio. The pork had no flavor, just dense dry pork, that seem to be overcooked by a lot. I tried to eat the skin and my teeth hurt afterwards. The pasteles were flavorless. For people who eat this style of food, you will be sadly disappointed.
