The jerk chicken Gyro is awesome! Spicy, but awesome! Service is slow, but I didn't mind waiting. I thoroughly recommend!

My dad was raving about this food truck and it smelt great when I went to wait in live. But sadly the jerk chicken portion was so small i ate it in three bites. I understand the popularity of this place and maybe they are rationing the food but im very disappointed.

If you work in or around the Bronx courthouses, this is where you should be eating. There's really nothing else that compares in terms of quality, value, and service. Great food, great people, and a great big line; for a reason!I recommend: the menu in its entirety.

Best halal food restaurant, recommended
Top 5 best chicken experiences of my life.I wasn't brave enough to try the j*** chicken because I know Jamaicans are serious about their spice and I'm weak when it comes to spicy food, but I DID get their grilled chicken and it was immaculate.Juicy, tender, flavorful, perfectly seasoned, and not so salty you need to spoon the rice and salad into your mouth after every bite, like you have to do with food that's well seasoned but overwhelming.I could eat a bucket of the chicken straight up.I also had the rice and peas, which were also delicious and well seasoned, flavorful but not overwhelming, and the platter comes with 2 sides so you can get a side salad/veggies too, which I got, but I think I might've accidentally opted out of salad dressing lol.Even though the rice and peas and the chicken were both flavorful, they still went together really well and never became too salty together or individually, which is kinda common with really flavorful delicious food.Super well balanced and delicious lunch, more than enough food for a meal and a good price for it, even with the add-ons I got (carrot cake and passionfruit lemonade) it was still only like 20 bucks, so not bad considering how much there was, the variety of the food, and the quality. There's usually a line for lunch so definitely try to get there early if you have somewhere to be, still, I don't think I waited more than 15 minutes.I WILL be coming back and I'd reccomend it to anyone, including the vegans and the health nuts since they have a great variety of vegan proteins and vegetables, and the food is very nutritionally balanced while not skimping out on flavor. This isnt to say its good for "healthy" food, it's good PERIOD, I personally would still eat the hell out of this even if it was very "unhealthy".
Vegetarian options: Lots of vegan and vegetarian options
Ate j*** chicken gyro with a beef pattie, homemade lemonade and a coconut. This was 10/10 delicious. If ya in governers Island eat here.
Delicious food!
Ate the vegetarian chicken with rice and peas, cabbage and j*** sauce. Delicious. They have a small shop at Governors Island. That’s where I had the meal but I couldn’t find that location on Google.
So much good stuff. Lentils with a little of that magic sauce probably my favorite.

First time that I have ever heard of the j*** chicken gyro ! Talk about a Jamaican fusion ! After they told me what kind of food they sold, I understood what they meant by Jamaican fusion after I ate the food. The j*** chicken was so succulent that I could not stop licking my fingers. The customer service was exceptional and they even have their own signature j*** seasoning bottled to go! It was truly great and a must have experience coming to New York City!P.S. By far the best food I have ever eaten from a food truck. I didn't know such quality can come from a food truck!
5 Stars way up!!!!!!!!¡!!!
Great food and exceptional service.
First time trying this place. Visiting NYToday was slightly rainy and cloudy. When I arrived the line was already 7 or 8 people long IN THE RAIN.A woman who I assume is the owner approached me waiting in line and took my order.I tried the j*** chickenRice and beansAnd cabbageThe chicken was so tender and flavorful. The rice was seasoned perfectly. The cabbage was slightly sweet in a good way and complimented the meal perfectly. The cake was amazing!Definitely recommend trying the food here.I will go back as much as I can before leaving NY.A+
This family served me some of the best chicken I have ever had at the Charlie Parker Jazz Festival. When a customer changed their mind on an order, I bought her j*** chicken gyro from the nice gentleman at the counter and selfishly asked if he could throw me some of the curry chicken for taking it off his hands. He obliged with more than I expected (one tiny piece would have been enough just to get a taste; or maybe not because I would have gone back for another gyro after learning how good it was!). This is all to say, that not only is the food incredible, but the service was superb. I am all to excited to learn that they are located right by BECA where my partner works, I will have to meet her for lunch whenever I can!
