I was in the neighborhood and went to The Fountain Diner to have a meal. I used to eat here before the remodeling and renaming of this restaurant. Like everyone else I found the new place to be cozy, and clean. I also thought the waiter to be pleasant, and attentive.When I went to pay my bill I noticed the amount I was charged was more than what was on my receipt. I questioned the cashier about this and she explained to me that customers are charged a fee when they pay with a credit or debit card. This extra charged prompted me to look over my receipt. I noticed a service fee in the amount of $1.71. When I questioned that charge I was told that a service fee is charged for dining in. No where on the menu or in the diner is there signage informing customers of these extra charges. Had I known that from the beginning, I don't know if I still would have dined there. But, by not disclosing that information, they didn't allow me a choice.I understand that due to COVID19 the restaurant industry has taken a massive hit. I have no problem supporting establishments, nor giving good tips to good servers. However, I prefer for businesses to be upfront about all of their fees. I do not like being nickeled and dimed, and I do not appreciate undisclosed charges. Many patrons just pay their bills without ever looking at the receipt. The Fountain Diner profits from that. That just doesn't seem right to me. Let your customers be aware. It's only right that you do.

The food was delicious. I'm so Happy to have a diner in my área (Misholu/ Norwood) that serves good food in a clean establishment. Now I can comfortably sit down.and enjoy my meal.without having to do takeout all the time. Thank you for opening up in the neighborhood (opposite Montefiore's Gun Hill Road ntrance). fi

LOVE the food at this diner! Breakfast foods and sides are ON POINT. Service is great, everyone is so kind. The atmosphere is really lovely and modern as well, and the booths are so comfy.

The impossible burger is cooked really great here, the customer service is 10/10, really good to the people in the neighborhood. My new go to spot when i wanna sit down and eat for sure.

This place is exactly what the neighborhood needed! A diner and a specialty Cafe store. I love the fact that they have an eversys machine, which is the best type of semi automatic espresso machine on the market today! Their brand of coffee is also great too. What i love about the cafe portion is their attention to detail when it comes to their tea. It comes from family farms and are very specific and detailed onto their teas. Their selection contain teas I've never heard of...and i had studied teas for quite some time! Their inner decor is absolutely fantastic. Next to some of the booths are a built in waterfall on the walls. The ceiling decor is so pretty. It's a shame none of my photos saved, so I need to come back and take more! Their baked goods section is also well rounded. I enjoyed their chocolate chip cookies a lot. What I appreciate the most about this diner is that a large portion, if not their whole menu, is made on site. Which is great for their freshness rating. I definitely encourage you to try this place out. Sit back and enjoy the inner scenery, grab some specialty tea, and get yourself a burger or two. :)
