If you're in Little Italy in The BX, Gene Bean's your sweet tooth's paradise! This Arthur Ave spot is your answer for ice cream, Zeppoles, Churros (yeah...those too) and of course- Italian Icee. Hubs and I had the most decadent Lemon Italian Icee at an old-time pizzeria in Brooklyn not long ago. Since then, they've been our trustworthy blueprint for Lemon Icee. Gene Bean's located inside the Arthur Avenue Retail Market and came up as "Ice Cream and Sorbet"- offering other sweet treats too. A big check mark for these guys because these Zeppoles are fresh and fried on the spot- but were heavy and thick- missing that true, light feel. Our Italian Icee experience was decent though. When everything was said and done, popping the trunk to enjoy our treats, was a nice ending in Little Italy at night.

Tony, the owner, along with Dina, Jose (who made this DELICIOUS banana boat) and Laisha, will make you feel at home and forget your troubles with a scoop or 2 of their homemade ice cream, gelato, shakes, icees and even cotton candy. They even have a restaurant that @xaviermts and I can't wait to try!!! So forget about that scale and come on down!!!
