Small and cozy old school Bar open since 1940 has wonderful classic NYC vibe. Perfect for a lazy Sunday afternoon, or pre-gaming before the game at Yankee stadium. Don't sleep on this place and help keep this small gem alive and well. No food served, but you can bring it in. Cheers to the Sunday barkeep, Patrick.
I was first exposed to Glacken's in the 2000's by 2 friends of mine who are brothers and it was a tradition of theirs and their father's to "hit Glacken's" prior to Yankee games.I've realistically "hit Glacken's" about 15 times now, and make sure whoever I go to the Yankee game with experiences Glacken's prior to.Tom Glacken is a pleasure to chop it up with behind the bar and the crowd is cool too (even at 11am. Very laid back with a comfortable small setting. Everyone knows everyone, the drinks are well worth the prices. Dominoes and cards are played. Tv with family feud, jeopardy, and wheel of fortune. Moreso for the extra grown folks.
