The BEST!! I've known the owner for Years from 169st. But he did his Big one when he opened Gold Star!! Open late and Open Early. Go treat yourself!! You will not regret it.

My daughter recommended this Restaurant! A young lady seemed stressed that I asked about the price. This was a surprise🌚 being there wasn’t any prices visible. She didn’t include the Plantains or gravy over my rice.
The cashier was kind enough to include it with my order. I understand they have a busy schedule, but courteous customer service helps increase your business!đŸ„°

People that lives out of town drives to your restaurant and get disappointed. Why when the food burns or catch the restaurant still put it out to sell like the customers money for quality food doesn’t count. Do better.

Generally the food is good. But i was very disappointed with Roti chicken curry.......? Its just serving curry chicken thats it. The roti is very thin, ive never seen roti like that. you cant taste and enjoy it the way it should be eaten. Was more a serving of curry chicken than the roti and curry. For that price too 👎 wasn't worth it .

Prices are not listed so they tell you one price and try to charge you another. There are 10 other Caribbean restaurants in the area. Let your money go further elsewhere.

I usually get the fried large crabs a generous amount of the crabs usually given , on this particular day it appeared to be a server I’ve never seen before. When she said “next” I indicated large crabs please , as she packed the plastic bowl with The eight crabs I stated I ordered a large , I would usually get me she uttered well dats it. I shook my head and ask for fried shrimp she look at me very angry and said people these days, I couldn’t understand where the frustration came from . I said wow smh , then i politely asked how much was the fried chicken she ignored me and the said you want it

I will not be going back to the store. This store was very disrespectful. I came in as a DoorDasher to get an order and they judged me off of appearance they were very disrespectful. Did not want to serve me the other young lady who was serving food to the other customers had to stop to come and give me the order while they all stood in the back laughing I will not recommend this restaurant to anyone they have poor customer service.

Gold Star truly offers the best Jamaican food in New York! Every dish I tried was bursting with authentic flavors that took me right back to the island. The jerk chicken was seasoned to perfection, with the right blend of spice and smokiness that defines a true Jamaican jerk. The curry chicken was tender and full of rich, complex flavors, and the stews were hearty and comforting. You can taste the love and tradition in every bite, and it’s clear that quality ingredients and skilled preparation are at the heart of everything they serve.

If you're looking for genuine Jamaican cuisine, Gold Star is the spot. Highly recommend trying everything on the menu; you won’t be disappointed!
