I was pleasantly surprised. I haven't been back to HK kitchen since it first opened, but figured it derseved a re-visit since its been many years since i was there. We were greeted with friendly smiles. The restaurant is clean & very welcoming. Our waitress, Christina, went beyond to make sure we were comfortable and was very efficent and gracious. We were served complimentary plantain chips with a yummy dip. We ordered HK chicken sandwich and side of my choice, which was sauteed brocolli. The others ordered burgers with cheese, sauteed onions with sides of fries. Our meals were delicious and prepared just perfect. Needless to say, we will definitely return and look forward to trying different dishes. I rate our experience a 10.

The Mac and cheese sampler was heavily disappointing. The regular lacked flavor. The shrimp one was meh. The buffalo chicken was the most disappointing one of all. It tasted like cumin chicken on top of bland Mac and cheese. Do not recommend. There was no buffalo flavor in that Mac and cheese. Maybe individual is better?
DO NOT ORDER THE STEAK!! OVER DONE, WITH NO TASTE, FOR $40. Just come here for the happy hour.

I don’t think I’ve ever had more disgusting food in my entire life. Waitstaff was very friendly, but food is vile. I ordered a chicken quesadilla and it literally was shredded chicken soup inside of tortillas. A Soaking wet quesadilla made from chicken bits (or so we assume).
My boyfriend ordered a chicken Caesar salad and I took a couple of bites and had to spit the chicken out into a napkin. Do not eat food here. Drinks are good. Staff is great. Food disgusting. And it was insanely expensive to boot. A sandwich is $20? Why? Chicken Caesar salad was $25? Why???? … We literally sent everything back and they still only took the $4 quesadilla off the bill.
Obviously, there’s a vibe there and I was happy with the ambience, but the food is disgusting! Don’t waste your money on food there!!

HK is my local favorite. Tacos Tuesday specials do not disappoint. The drinks and the food are phenomenal. Steak and salmon nights on Wednesday. Plus Karaoke. I always have a great time here. Definitely a neighborhood favorite. LGBT friendly.
