I’m an NYBG member and have been going to this restaurant for years. I’m really disappointed in the quality of the food and experience which has gone downhill. Chicken thighs are served with half the dishes on the menu including chicken & waffles, salads and sandwiches and the quality is low. For what they charge, serve chicken breast. The cocktail menu is uninspired and staple dishes are half as good as they used to be. I truly hope they revamp the entire restaurant from start to finish.

Food and drinks were alright, a little too expensive for the quality. They were out of the burrata so we got the buffalo cauliflower bites which were pretty good. The roasted lamb tagliatelle was a little underwhelming and very salty.

The worst chicken sandwich I have ever eaten. We waited at least 1/2 hours for the sandwich. The corn soup was delicious. The strawberry cake was good.

The food was very good but I find the menu limited. The best salad is the Crispy Chicken. A Nicoise salad came with smoked salmon, not tuna. Pouched salmon would have been a good substitute.

Been there a couple of years ago. Must have been a different chef. We're greatly disappointed with the level of food. Our waiter was inattentive no silverware. No second bottle of water. and didn't clean our table before desert. the prices are high, we're happy to ok to pay $$$ for a fab lunch, but that was really not worth it.

Nice atmosphere and food. Staff were pleasant and capable but clearly over extended. I felt bad for them. We had to wait to be seated at our table and didn't get our food or drinks for 45 minutes. When we eventually got our food some dishes were not very hot, like they'd been sitting for a while. I had called in advance to confirm that we'd have enough time to make our 8pm ticket time for the Orchid Show but we didn't get out of the restaurant until 8:30pm, which was disappointing. We would have had dessert if there had been time, but we were already 30 mins late. I would eat here again but would allow a lot more time for my meal.

Quite disappointed at this visit. Waited almost an hour after our reservation time for our table for a special birthday dinner. It would have been easy enough to ask lingering diners to move to open porch tables when wait for event opening, instead of staying at their tables. Menu choices are somewhat lacking post-pandemic and value has declined, but food is still good. Service was poor as waiter disappeared. Will not eat here again during an evening garden event.

Braised short rib and burrata were excellent! Chicken was decent, cocktail was a little unbalanced. They were obviously a bit overbooked, but definitely put in a VERY good effort to attend all the tables and keep things running smoothly.

We have returned numerous times to dine at The Hudson Grill while visiting the NY Botanical Gardens. The food is excellent and the atmosphere is lovely, especially in the outside room overlooking the gardens. My husband enjoys the lamb tagliatelle and the French fries is excellent. The menu does not cater to families or children. The indoor room can be noisy and the service is slow. They certainly don't rush you. I believe they need more wait staff as our waiter was given a large number of tables to serve. I would highly recommend this restaurant and we will certainly return.

We've eaten here many times now, and the Hudson Garden Grill has consistently met or exceeded our expectations. Food is always carefully prepared and presented. Seasonal menu changes offer enough variety for frequent diners and the prix fixe menu offers enough to satisfy most tastes and is reasonably priced. We started coming here when we visited the New York Botanical Gardens but it is now a destination in and of itself. Great food, great service and ambiance. A real gem that you should not miss.

Server was excellent. Thought $16 for the carrot cake was high for such a small piece. Disappointed in the roasted tofu I added to my salad. It was cold and flavorless. Asked the server for some extra salad dressing which was delicious and that made it much better as it had not been tossed in the dressing to begin with. If warm , would have been really good.
