I asked for contactless delivery and the delivery driver not only banged on my window he went ahead and turned the knob of my front door twice!! , attempting to get into my home!! This man is unhinged and should not be near people. Never ordering from here again

Anise continues to be a welcome, affordable, and pleasant dining experience in the neighborhood. The one suggestion I made to our server was to re-do the lunch special menu so spicy dishes are marked as such (perhaps until they are, servers can inform a diner that a dish they are ordering is very spicy). I just passed the restauraunt and noticed the other section of the menu (posted on the window) has a hot pepper notation next to the spicy dishes- but the ones posted here don't.

The best egg roll north of Canal (I had to order a second one!)...Delicious wonton soup made with thin, delicate wonton wrappers instead of those thick, slippery tasteless kind (I ordered another bowl!)...and yummy eggplant in garlic sauce (no seconds; I was finally full!!). This place is so much better than the Hunan Balcony it replaced. Had I known, I'd have tried it years ago. I can't wait to go back. Highly recommended.
Old neighbor standby had in our opinion “gone downhill,” but now, under new management, is excellent. Food is fresh snd really good. Service (Tony) is outstanding, warm and very friendly. Our second visit in two weeks and we’ll definitely be back often.

New owners need new cooks. Period. The food decline has been stark and upsetting after being a shining Riverdale establishment for so many years. Chicken dishes are bland and the prices have been gouged. Fried rice is fine but the proteins are mealy and seem to be made with little care. Please do better in the future.
