Our family has been going to Jake's for many years. It offers consistently good food and service.

Made a reservation online. It was honored and we were seated right away. This was NYE so it is hard to tell what service looks like on a regular night. Valet took car and keys as we drove up. No spots on the street were available. Place looked clean. Porterhouse and lobster tails were tasty. Tails a little overdone. Oysters were mostly good; just a few not too great and had some grit. I saw the manager performing service recovery for a few tables which was concerning and yet reassuring that they were attentive to customers needs. There seemed to be plenty of waiters but they kept hovering towards the kitchen and were a little absent near the end of our meal. Took a few tries to hail down our waitress to bring the check, process the check, and bring change. We were just in a bit of a rush to make it to our next reservation and had finished our meals and drinks for a while. Staff were pleasant. Spent over $300 for the 2 of us. Upper room seating was nice. When leaving tipped the valet; no base charge. May return during better season for view of the park.

Great as always! Food is amazing, service is very friendly and professional. One of the best restaurants in New York!

Steaks are phenomenal, albeit a bit overpriced. The service is not great, however. We had a party of 12 for a work celebration and the servers were not able to handle that many people. They were, quite plainly, in over their heads. Several items were ordered and never received. They were also unwilling (maybe unable?) to work with us and split the bills. We couldn't put alcohol on the main bill as it was a work function, so a bunch of us didn't drink even though we were ready and willing to spend money. The tip is added automatically (20%) so the servers tend to be a bit lazy.

Jakes is great for small groups but they are not equipped for larger parties (anything over 6 people).

Used to be my favorite steakhouse but it has fell off. Had my yearly work Christmas Party there and it was a let down almost the whole night. They changed the Au Jus recipe on the filet mignon (terrible), baked clams were cold and some were not cooked right, and a lot of the food came out cold or overcooked. Will be looking to make different plans next year.
It hurts to even leave this review as it was one of my favorite places to eat and I would go out of my way to get there a couple times a year but the recipe change is a big deal and the filet mignon is nothing special now without that.

This place I don't even have the words to explain they food is F'ing amazing idk what they put In there seasoning it's so damn good I'm sorry for cursing but that's how good their food is. I been here a few times and the food never misses it's good every time.. I went here 2 times for my birthday different and it was great the people are nice and respectful the environment is clean even the bathroom is nice and clean. It's very quiet and chilled very nice for a date night birthday event any event you would like to celebrate you want be disappointed. 😊 oh yes and the prices are great as well. 😊

Good food and nice space. I hadn't been there is a while. So while I like the vibe there it just seemed a bit pricey to me.

Overall the service was excellent. The steaks were very good along with delicious appetizers and side dishes like asparagus and mashed potatoes. Carrot cake and cheese cakes hit the spot!!

Being from the Midwest, I am always skeptical of non-Midwest steakhouses (call me bias 😊) but goodness, I am already looking forward to another visit to Jake's!
We ordered several dishes, and what a delight! We shared the porterhouse for 2 and it was perfectly charred, tasty, and medium rare inside. The French Onion Soup was in the sweeter side, but rich and herby. The Mussels with spicy marinara was spectacular, and was likely our favorite. The sauce had a kick and we ended up just eating like soup, it was so yummy. We ended with the creme brulee, which was ok - it seemed pre-prepared and was missing the classic crunch on top, but it was a nice sweet treat!

Normally I'd give Jakes a 4or 5 star rating. I don't go often because of the price, but once or twice a year, during the fall/holiday season I like to go, because the food really is, normally, top notch. This time, however, I cant say the same. The atmosphere was, as always, fantastic, tables neatly placed, and enough space between different parties. We always ask for a table next to the window overlooking the park. Service was spot on, except, oddly, the server cleaning the crumbs and plates, who was a bit, brash? I suppose he was just busy and wanted to get things done ASAP. I cant speak for the quality of food my other guests had, but for me, I ordered the cheese/crab mancotti with a citrus hollandaise sauce, truthfully it just wasnt very good the dough was gluey, the filling seemed to lack any cheese or other flavor other than crab. My dish, off the special menu, was also a hollandais3 inspired seafood dish--seabass--which was good, however, the rice and string beans that came along with the dish was both dry and hard. Lastly, I ordered a diet coke, the first which tasted fine, however, after having finished it, it sat empty without a refill for most of the evening, only, finally to be refilled with a diet coke that tasted HORRIBLE. I couldn't place it on the soda itself or the ice, my mom and dad both tasted amd agreed it tasted off. Suffice it to say, I didn't finish it. Overall, as a patron of Jakes for years at this point, this was the very first time that I came out disapointed. Some may say its a steak joint why did I go with fish--my answer is I don't like steak and have always gotten a delicious non-steak plate here before. I will return in hopes that this evening was a one-off, however, I hope its not a sign of decline for this establishment, because if so, the price of last nights dinner and experience wqs undeserving.

Jake's Steakhouse in the Bronx is a rare find....it is a five-star restaurant with a neighborhood feel. The servers know their customers, say hello to regulars, can pair wine and answer any question you have on the menu. They don't rush you but are watchful to make sure you have everything you need. From birthdays to a business lunch or to watch a game at the bar - this place fits. Big thumbs up to Jake's. Always great food, service and environment.
