I honestly don't know what the hype is about this place!! Since you walk in the first feeling is like whoaaa....so much stuff cramped in such a little space. You can't even see the menu. I went on a Tuesday at lunch time and the place was empty. I stood around for 10 minutes while the lady behind the counter was like playing on the phone, the other guy saw me and didn't even greeted me. Finally, a third guy comes out and asked me what I wanted. I say make me your best or most famous sandwich and he just pointed to a menu. I looked at the hot plates and the food looked like it had been there for days, dry and stale. I ordered a sandwich and honestly $18 is way too much for what it is. I can get a bigger, better tasting sandwich at a supermarket deli. I will honestly never come back

Joe's makes some of the best sandwiches in NYC - not an exaggeration. Their mozzarella is fresh and perfectly salted. The joy inside the shop is infectious and they have lots of interesting dry goods on sale.

Wow! Delicious sandwiches and great selection of items.
The Bella Donna is the best sandwich I’ve ever had. I’ve been to numerous Italian delis and no one has done it like Joe’s. I will be coming back and trying their marinated goods and plates for sure!
