When in NYC, Take the 1 train to VanCortland Park and walk to Lloyds for the best Carrot Cake. Moist, fresh & still delicious.
Parking: If you get to VanCortland early, you should find parking. It is not readily available. You will get a ticket. Lloyd’s was the go to for cakes, when I lived in the Bronx. Lloyds has a variety of cakes and they do sell slices.

Lloyds has been A neighborhood staple since I was a kid. They are so friendly and their carrot cakes are out of this world. I went in today to pick up a cake for my mother’s birthday and inquired about which flavor would be best, with raisins or without. The kind gentleman answered my questions and even gave me a slice of the plain carrot cake to try since I went with the ones with nuts and raisins. This is why I will continue supporting this small business. Not only are they great people, their products are unmatched!

A lil overrated. It was good but not gonna make me want to come back. Just wanted to see what the hype was about. Ever since covid, I feel funny with people dealing with my food & was bothered when I saw the lady icing a cake holding it chest height with her mouth open, breathing all over it.

First time every trying here, it lives up to its name. I didn’t pre order, I picked up the carrot cake serving 6-8 people, it was so reasonably priced. Quality was amazing, the cake you could tell was fresh as it was lovely and warm when bringing it home. The guy behind the counter was so polite taking my order. Can’t wait to come back here again for the next time I need a cake!
