Great food, exceptional service and an overall wonderful experience! My husband and I are staying in manhattan for 3 days only, he’s a chef and we share a love for Italian cuisine and pasta. I did a lot of searching online for somewhere “New York Italian” authentic - understandably, little Italy in the Bronx was where we would go. I’m SO GLAD I chose Mario’s as our one-and-only this trip to NYC. The restaurant is warm and cozy, the staff - from young scholar checking coats to hostess to servers, the chef and singer/entertainer. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming and the servers were so attentive and made sure we were enjoying everything. Perfect afternoon Sunday dinner for us. We will be back…. Anyone comparing restaurants, I can’t speak for others just yet but Mario’s was 10 out of 10 for us out of towners ❤️🍝

This was our second trip to Mario's before going to the NYBG. Food was outstanding - I had the vodka sauce with capellini with a cutlet. Other diners had the chicken cacciatore, chicken francese and shrimp francese. The desserts were good. People were happy with their latte and cappuccino. And of course the bread, olive oil and carrots that are complementary. Now for my reasons for the lower star ratings - service. The before dinner drinks took awhile to be delivered. We weren't really going to get an app but the waiter recommended the sampler. What it forgot to mention was that it was $15.00 PER PERSON and that it was a minimum of 4 people. Considering what we were given it wasn't anywhere near worth the price. Here is what was plated for the FOUR of us: Asparagus -3 Fried Calamari - covered 1/3 of the plate Stuffed Mushrooms - 2 Eggplant Rollatini - we could only find one Clams Oreganata - 3 Fresh Mozzarella & Sundried Tomatoes - 3 pieces of cheese with the tomatoes. I didn't not count all the pieces that were there - luckily my friend photographs our food so I was able to go back to the picture for reference. If you are going to charge per person then there should have been 4 of each!!!! I was annoyed about price before the app came but I was enjoying time with my family so I didn't say anything. But as I thinking about the dinner later on I know some people had said oh they didn't get something and I thought I didn't have any eggplant. The more I thought about it the more irritated I have become. Continuing on about service - I asked for sweetener for my coffee, he legit said no, it's sweet enough. I thought he was joking but after 2 pass byes he didn't bring the sweetener. I sucked it up because I was stewing about the price and then my cousin's drink after dinner took long.
Second time there and did not disappoint. Loved it once again. Great Italian food and great wait staff. Love they have Valet too on a busy Arthur Avenue. We will be back.
This was our second visit to Mario's and it was fun to return with friends who had never eaten there. We all loved the ambiance and the courteous and professional service. Two of us ordered the pumpkin gnocchi. Eating them was like biting into a flavorful cloud. Great texture! We highly recommend Mario's for lunch or dinner when shopping in the Arthur Avenue Little Italy neighborhood!
Family run business with great cocktails and traditional Italian food. Staff was attentive as well. Having the valet out front was so nice since Arthur Ave is a busy place. We drove in from Long Island not ever having been here before and had a really great night!!
Excellent food, service, drinks !!! Wonderful for lunch & dinner 🤗 🤗. And FREE PARKING. Definitely dine at Mario's Italian Restaurant 🤩 🤩.
Going to Mario's is always a great night out! The food is always memorable and delicious, with great daily specials. Service is always impeccable and attentive.
1.5 hour wait for soupy pasta that was mediocre tasting. Very disappointing.

I have been coming to Mario's for over 60 years, and it has withstood the test of time. The food, service and ambiance have remained outstanding.
I had to take away one star for lack of seasoning everything needed salt which was slightly annoying! However my mom’s dish was perfect and I lovedddd the Cesar salad you can tell the dressing is made in house. My clams also weren’t that fresh had a funky taste I could finished them, we also loved the bread we got 2 round. The service was great we were ah party of 5 and we didn’t need for anything just napkins lol. This place is ah family style place quiet and quaint however it was packed on ah Saturday tables full people enjoying themselves. The drinks were also good the pear martini was my fave but it’s not pictured.

Overrated food not great just so so (some dishes good, some outright bad), very slow kitchen
We had some amazing Italian food and cocktails at Mario's. The atmosphere was what you expect from Italian dining and they even had live music on a Sunday. If you dont mind a little wait I guarantee you'll enjoy thr food here.
I'm sure this is better than it was for us tonight. Inedible veal chop. Broccoli rabe boiled until it was gray. We should have just waited the two hours to get in across the street.

The food was amazing and plentiful. Service was excellent. The host was super accommodating when we needed one more chair. Will definitely go again!!
Was a wonderful throwback experience that reminded me of growing up in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn.
