Mi Romance Ecuatoriano Lucho Barrios

This place has been around for over 40 years, now with a new location and an updated name. Some of the old favorites remain, reminiscent of the original “home land” style. You can still enjoy traditional Ecuadorian cooking with authentic seasoning, plus an updated menu with new additions—like steak with bolón or chicken with bolón.

I tried the Chaulafan de Carne y Pollo. It was missing the ham they used in the past, which was noticeable. I also had the Sopa de Salchicha, but was disappointed—the flavor seemed off, and the salchicha itself was extremely chewy, almost inedible, likely due to the casing.

The same owners are verified, though I’m not sure about the current kitchen staff.

Parking is available on the street, along with paid meters. Make sure to lock up and do not leave valuables in your car, as the area is known for car break-ins.

Food is great here, everything I've had from the Bolon mixto which is the best I've had in entire NY state. Pollo apanado (breaded chicken) is good, they can do a bit better on the cazuela mixta, the quality is good, the jugo de mora i don't think its natural but I'm not sure, pollo saltado is so good, steak and bolon is good, charlatán is okay, encebollado is above okay but not like dam that was money, limito saltado is good too. Thats as far as i can remeber. I recommend.

THE RICE WAS RAW, DRY WITHOUT FLAVOR. What a shame of a place. The “Encobollado steak” with a few onions, literally has a few pieces of onion. Never order food here. Horrible food. Filth, horrible.

Why would a restaurant have their smoke alarm continuously beeping? Can they not correct it? Food was mediocre and the service wasn't good. Take an order, deliver food and give the bill. Didn't stop by to ask how is everything. Little gnats flying around. 1st and last time

The food was just horrible. La carne estaba cruda, it was raw ?? just a waist of money

I bought a Guatita and the taste of the tripe was sour, then I called to make my complaint and the lady ignored it because according to her everything is made the same day, after that she did not change anything or refund the money and she closed me the call.

The best Ecuadorian food, one of my favorite dishes is encebollado, recommended for everyone.

This is an inhumane place, they prohibit entry to disabled people with dogs, which is illegal in New York. Don't go to this crappy restaurant

I came to this place with my service dog because I am a legal disabled person and the owner prohibited me the entrance. I told her and showed my dog ID and she didn’t even care about it!!! I was with my 1yr old baby told her that my baby was hungry and that it was illegal for her to not let me in but she claimed that her place sells food and that her clients was going to get upset and that she didn’t care that I was disabled. Very rude, and upsetting she ask me to leave and I left the place but I will sure make the complaint to the legal services. Please let this not happen again to someone else and lets not go to places like this were they discriminate. And of course I do not recommend it to no one ☝️ Terrible people and service!!! Yo llegue este lugar con mi mascota de servicio porque soy una persona deshabilitada y la dueña de lugar me prohibió entrar. Yo le expliqué y le mostré mis ID de mi mascota y a ella no le importo!! Yo llegue con mi Bebe de 1 año y le expliqué que teníamos hambre y que era ilegal lo que estaba haciendo ella alego que su establecimiento vendía comida y que a sus clientes les molestaría mi mascota servicial no le importo que yo duera incapacitada. Muy arrogantemente me dijo que me fuera y lo hice, pero claro que la voy a denunciar a las autoridades. Por favor no permitamos que esto le vuelva a pasar a alguien mas y no apoyen a lugares como estos donde nos discriminan. Y por supuesto que No recomiendo este restaurante de la mala muerte a Nadie ☝️Terrible servicio y mala gente!!!
