The vanilla ? cone I just bought at the Mr. Softee Truck- was the closest thing to heaven ? on Earth ? I've ever had - it's tasted the same since the first vanilla cone (my grandmother treated me to) from the same trucks back in the early to late 60's and into the 70s...
1st time in NY visiting family in the Bronx and I’ve had Mr Softee 2x since we’ve been here! The ice cream is cream and a grey size for $3.50. The snow cones are fine, not a tone of flavor because they are pre-packaged but it was a nostalgic buy. It’s pretty cool seeing the ice cream man again though. In my state they no longer do that, so it was a great nostalgic experience!
Mr.softee, is not just an ice cream. It's an experience. An iconic staple the 5 boroughs of New York city. I have been eating mr.softee, all my life. Every lick of a Mr.softee. chocolate ice cream cone brings back childhood memories of having to chase that damn truck for five blocks until it came to a stop .....but, no matter how far.the first lick of every cone is like a timelapse of summer days gone by.(in my case 49 summers)
