I’m trying to figure out if this was the same Italian bakery my mother used to go to when I was a little kid in the 1950s? Was there a bakery near or in this location back then? Did it have a dark (shiny black?) storefront back in those days. Is it the one a couple of blocks away from PS 113? If it is, we absolutely loved it. We lived on Bronx Blvd, but unfortunately, moved out of da Bronx in ‘64.
Great prices coffee out standing greasy baked pastry I love it here

I grew up eating their bread on a daily and their cookies once a week or so and it ruined almost every other Italian bakery experience for me. I still struggle to find bread that taste like theirs and having those baked goods as treats when I was growing up makes me laugh at every hipster gentrification bakery I've seen in the many years since I lived in the Bronx. Countless generations they've fed. Doing some Google map surfing of the old neighborhood I saw this place was open and pleasantly surprised. This place is a hidden gem. I know there's other Italian bakeries but this is one that is definitely worth making the trip to the Bronx and checking out.
