I could have gave 5 stars of it's not fit the trip I made to their store and find it closed when the webside said its open from 7 to 5 pm 7 days a week. Love the bread but I came back very disappointed 😥

The Bread is delicious, went by in August and i think they closed the store part , just the bakery and the delivery trucks was operational.

this bread bakery brings back plenty of good memories for me . it's been on burke ave the bronx since the early 1925 and folks keep coming for the fresh italian bread that is second to none. when i was a young lad i would be on burke ave hanging with friends and visiting my granny and aunt who lived right across the street from the bakery and that smell of fresh hot bread hitting the air was powerful . they bake the bread really early in the morning and then deliver the assorted breads and rolls to supermarkets , deli's , bodegas , etc . the shop itself inside and outside is plain and simple but it's all about the breads . they also carry cookies and other types of pastries but for me it's a few loafs of seeded bread and it's a wrap . i recommend coming in the morning when everything is still hot and fresh . the prices are still reasonable and quality has not dropped after all these years . i grew up in the area and nicosias bread bakery is one of the reasons i make an effort to keep coming back.
This is the best bread in the city. For 30 years Nicosia's has supplied the bread for our Sunday dinners. Every Christmas Eve I go with my dad to their shop to get our bread for Christmas and Christmas Eve. While they closed their retail shop they make daily deliveries of fresh breads to restaurants and groceries stores all over the tri-state area. I have not had a seeded Italian load of bread that could beat Nicosia's. Amazing.

Hands down the best bread bakery in the bronx. The bagels are to die for and I would highly recommend this bakery if your in the area. They are a small family owned bakery for decades so it is not super fancy but it gets the job done. They will toast your bagel and have a handful of drinks available including coffee. Once again THE BEST BAGELS PERIOD!!!!

If you want real Italian bread, the way it's supposed to be...crusty on the outside soft and doughy on the inside, then your at the right place. Excellent cookies too!
