Saw the beautiful sign across the street and decided to give them a try. I got the avocado salad with chicken ($15) and a side of mexican corn ($5). Both were delicious.
The restaurant was clean, the staff were friendly and polite, and the atmosphere was pleasant. It has different colored mood lighting and music playing in Spanish that is loud but not super loud. There was no wait at about 4:30 on a Friday.

This restaurant added a $23 gratuity tip for our lazy waiter.
There were less then 10 people in the restaurant and he kept forgetting parts of our order, NEVER brought us napkins, and after multiple attempts to ask for water he finally brings it out and gives us a separate bill for it???
Plus they did not tell us there was an ADDITIONAL FEE for using our cards till after they took our money.

A colleague and myself came here for dinner earlier this week.
Service started out strong with a friendly greeting, quick drink order taken and recommendations provided. From there it dropped. The server forgot to ring in one of our food items, he also forgot to bring water which was requested midway through the meal. We got a strong whiff of marijuana midway through eating and my colleague was pretty sure the server was smoking at the bar (it was definitely coming from inside). Slow service the remainder of the meal.
Food was ok. Not horrible but I've had better. We had the guac and chips, tacos and mole. Guac tasted bland. Taco meat was a bit dry (carnitas). Portion sizes were good.
Both of us had margaritas and at least were able to get one round during happy hour. Mind you when we ordered a second we noticed the glasswear changed so while you think you're getting a happy hour deal, it's just a smaller sized drink.
Atmosphere wise, there were only a few tables. Music was so loud we could barely hear each other (part of their vibe I guess).
Watch out when paying as there is already a 15% service fee included. I usually tip 20% but based on lackluster service the 15 seemed even high.

Run don't walk. This hidden jem has the most amazing food, better than most places in Manhattan. I order from here at least once a week. It's part of my grocery budget at this point.

My server was very attentive and inviting. Not sure why this place doesn't have a straight 5 star rating (i mean what restaurant does I guess, eh?) And I'm no connoisseur of Mexican cuisine however this was some of the best I've tasted.
The environment was a bit chilly (at the time of this post it was 31 degrees out farenheit) but clean and inviting. You can come here and definitely relax from a busy day. Music wasn't overly loud (however I did come at 4PM). It's located in a part of the Bronx I'm sure would attract more people if they were all working class.
In any case, the food was amazing and hot-well presented too. It filled me up and I'm 6'4" 250 lbs.
Definitely a great experience. Highly recommend.

The prices are not the same on the menu 😕 it changes when they have events which is not explain until u been charged for the drinks
I ordered 2 buckets and an order of calamari and the waiter, when I brought the plate, only threw it away and didn't even benefit and they still charged the tip all at once.

I came in here originally ordering take out, after about 30 minutes of waiting for my chicken tacos - I asked if I could have chips & salsa while I waited. Staff said that that is only for seat-in customers, so I obliged and chose to sit in since I only had 30 minutes of lunch left anyway. They said I can't change my mind even though the place was completely empty, and I had already paid. Mind you, I didn't even receive my food yet and they still took 10 more minutes to serve me my food. They also have a 4% service fee for using a credit/debit card so keep that in mind, as well.
So I guess the owner did not read the part where I waited an extra 10 minutes AFTER I asked to switch to dine-in. If it takes you 10 minutes to plate tacos in a to-go plate then you’re just wasting everyone’s time. And I made that 4% fee aware to ALL people BEFORE coming into your establishment.
Changed it to 1 star because you’re extremely rude to anyone who doesn’t give you a positive review.
