I don’t normally leave reviews but I have to let this be known. The Guy sharing/handling the food on 10 March 2024 around 7pm was vulgarly disrespectful to my mom. For health reasons she kindly requested less gravy on the rice than normal and the young lady at the cashier assured her that they would honor this request. She instructed my mom to let the guy sharing the food know who was right next to her so he already heard. All good. Upon waiting for a while we saw that he was finally sharing her serving when he began pouring the gravy all over the rice…we are all humans maybe he forgot which is completely understandable, my mom softly said “excuse me sir, but that’s a little bit too much gravy for me…”Now, I’m not sure what transpired with him internally but he started yelling expletives on the top of his lungs we were so confused, embarrassed and frankly upset with this type of response over a simple request. He continues cursing expletives saying that he didn’t put no gravy on the rice… this was the epitome of Horrible Customer Service! and we are truly disappointed in the service we received…we lost our appetite and left the restaurant without being able to get a refund that night. Manager if you’re reading this, that cook needs to be reprimanded or relieved of his duties because he obviously doesn’t value your brand or your customers.

The food at Richie Rich is pretty good. The parking is non-existent, so prepare to double park or drive around while someone runs in.
Recently purchased cod fish and dumplings and it was a horrible experience. They soaked all the salt out of the cod fish (salt fish) and it had absolutely no taste. I used to frequent them years ago and it was a much different story, the food was good. They used to be 24 hours and according to the internet they’re still 24 hours.I decided to try them again today, made the 35 minute trip and they were closed at 7AM in spite of the fact that the internet said they are still 24 hours and were open. What a waste of time and gas first thing in the morning.

The Oxtail with rice & peas is immaculate ! Highly recommend it. First time going i stopped by early got the oxtail freshly made. Rice tasted great & cabbage too. The server gives generous portions i got a medium plate for $18 Worth every dollar !

I really wanted to give this place a 2.5, and rounding down felt too harsh. But here goes. I ordered the following items: medium curry chicken and white rice, side of mac and cheese, and carrot cake. The entire chicken meal was mushy and over cooked from the chicken to the rice. Small portions of chicken also. I asked for extra gravy and she didn't bother to stir the gravy and gave me straight grease. The Mac and cheese was mediocre at best - just a bunch of noodles with a bit of cheese in the middle and top. The carrot cake slice had the entire top of frosting stuck to the top of the container. For the Bronx, there are plenty of better options with a similar price range. I won't be going back.

I ordered oxtails with rice and peas. Richie isn't the same since the expansion, lol. They used to be top-tier years ago when they first opened up, but slowly have fallen off. The food portions were good, I'll give them that. I definitely asked them to pile a lot on and they did. The oxtail was good and had a decent amount, I enjoyed it for the most part. The food however was very oily and it left me with crazy heartburn the next day. I can't say it was the BEST I've had from there, it was DECENT. It's been way better. Y'all owe me a pepto-bismal next visit.

This is my favorite Jamaican restaurant in the bronx. The food always tastes fresh, they give good portions and it’s flavorful! I got a medium oxtails with rice and peas steamed veggies and a side of Mac and paid $24 which is definitely worth it! I crave their food often.

The only thing that was positive was that the salt content was low.It was not appetizing. It didn’t taste fresh at all. I hope my the small amount of curried chicken I tasted will not cause me to get sick.I ordered fried chicken and vegetable sides as well.I wouldn’t order again ‼️
