Their fried chicken was very over cooked , rice not bad the pastelitos very nice I feel like they had to do a better job of cooking meats but overall OK

The food is good and the service also. I usually get my food delivered from here but today was the first time I actually went and it's a nice, right now you can dine outside and enjoy this weather.

Food is too expensive! Ask before you order or you will be nickel and dimed

Overpriced and undercooked. All items are priced ala Carte so you have to pay for sides separately so everything adds up and it's costly considering where it's located

I don't know how to rate this one. On top of that I have no pictures to show for it. Except to let you know- my first impression was a bit off. I really like to look beyond the surface... seriously I do. And I know beauty is only skin deep. But this place just took me someplace else. In the first place, Ruby's "Dominican" food on their Yelp page, surprised me- and given their location, was reason to visit. Entrance is bold and... interesting. Even before opening the door, you could hear the music out in the street. But the funny part was actually going in and realizing it wasn't even Merengue, Bachata or Salsa- it was downright loud, auto-tuned, Latin pop music. Any pluses? Ruby's is well-kept with burgundy tablecloths and accessories. But the place was cold and empty with the exception of three soccer players eating Buffalo wings and 2 employees. Let me just put it this way- no one there was Dominican (maybe Ruby?). I really don't mean to single anybody out but if I'm eating at a Dominican restaurant, I want Dominican folks making the food. So we got loud music, employees sitting at the bar while Mom and I staring at each other. Furthermore, the front of their menu read: 'Mexican and Dominican Food'- now this is one fusion mashup I wasn't down with! Love Mexican and my own Dominican food. But these two have totally different seasoning styles! Come on now. When I asked a woman (maybe Ruby herself?), she "pointed" to a few Dominican dishes. Ummm...No thank you. Had to make a rash decision of staying put or bouncing out of here quick. I don't know about you, but I don't want the United Nations making my Dominican food. This didn't work out for me...but it might definitely be up your alley- plus I'm sure, people come in droves. I know I'm being shallow, but made eye contact with my Mom for us to leave. Put on our coats and I kindly thanked Ruby(?). I'll be generous with a 3 and even though we didn't eat here, I'm basing it on looks and cleanliness- plus Ruby (?) was pleasant even when we walked out.

At Rubys restaurant the food is amazing and everything is fresh. It is an excellent place to enjoy real dominican food. They have great customer service and very clean installations. You must go and see for yourself I recommend it!!
