I'm one of the original customers. Yes, I am old. Ages ago, S &S was a well kept secret in the catering world. I truly believe they set the standard. My Father was in the food business, and he would bring home the GIANT cheesecakes for parties and family events. It was a special treat. As an adult, I lived with my wife in Riverdale. It was great to be able to get a cake from the Bodega or Candy store on their block. Until recently, I had never seen S & S's gate open, because they worked through the night. I went there 2 days ago and it was a happy sight to see it open, on a very busy street. We also lived in downtown Brooklyn, and I felt that Junior's was all about hype. The obvious difference is quality, and a touristy establishment versus an artist who has always been consistent. The newly self annointed FOODIE experts continuely show their ignorance. But they are loud. I have learned that people who are loud, are usually wrong. Thank you S & S for being a memorable part of my life. Thank you for always being the example of how a quality food business should be run. BIG STANDING OVATION!!!!

We ordered two cheesecakes (original and chocolate) from Goldbelly and they were HORRIBLE. The cheesecake tasted like flour and the crust was this weird flakey dough. We brought it to a family dinner and everyone agreed it was bad. I do not recommend.

I accidentally tapped the 5 stars. I’ve never eaten one of their cheesecakes. Checking out reviews first.

The coffee here was very good but the cheesecake was alright. For a place that pride's itself for it's cheesecake they can do better. The crust was lackluster and the cake itself is not as rich as it can be. It's a 6.5 out of 10 compared to be the best that NYC has to offer. If I was in the neighborhood I would swing by maybe but I am not going out of my way to grab a slice. I do like the owner, the people here and the calm friendly environment. Hence the 4 out of 5 stars.

Saw this featured on NY Live as the best cheesecake in NY. Couldn't wait to try. It was actually the WORST I've ever had. Tasteless and dry...we tossed in right in the garbage. I don't understand the 2 extremes when reading the reviews.

I haven’t been there in years, I remember how great it was when you walked in and they were baking cheesecakes and the line was out the door. Bought three cheesecakes today worth $87 and they are horrible! Definitely not the same taste or size as in the past. As someone above stated the crust was raw in the the one that was given to me was probably sitting there for days! My pictures will show! Zagat rated maybe once upon a time but as my wife said I’d rather of eaten a Costco cheesecake. Don’t know if it’s new owbers but I saw a response that they’ve been in business for 60 years, but that doesn’t mean that they are serving quality stuff in 2023, maybe in 1963 till 2021 but definitely not now! The worst, horrible!

My daughter bought me a pineapple topped cheesecake for my birthday. It was terrible. The crust was doughy, not well baked. It had no flavor. Don't waste your time or money. I will stick to the Cheesecake Factory, they are the best.

Having grown up in New Jersey. I was stoked to find frozen juniors at my local Costco for one time. My husband sent an S&s one here in Seattle for Mother's Day. The texture is amazing. I'm guessing in person it could be even better. I'm not sure about the crust, but the cheesecake itself is so amazing it doesn't matter!

One of my local favorites, It's always tasty and moist. And if they are closed we can always get on of their cakes nearby.

Went there yesterday and picked up a large, strawberry cheese cake. I must say, it wasn’t worth the money spent for it. It’s not horrible tasting it just doesn’t have much of a flavor. To be honest the cheese cakes from Walmart are way better. I purchased a cheese cake from them years ago and it was hands down the best cheese cake I’ve ever eaten. I’m not sure what has changed but they missed the mark.

This cheesecake is perfect. It does not have a crust fyi, which I do miss, but it's so delicious.
